New Year Pass

Website inventory has been updated. By the way I couldn't find #48 Chavon Robusto. Never heard of it either. Is the spelling correct?

Thanks. Backslide already pointed me there. the problem was wether to list the item as a $5 MSRP cigar or a $2.00 retail item. I am leaning to towardss the $5 because that is the basis of my list (MSRP) and cigar prices are such a variable.

Your list should be what anyone can by them for on the net. Not MRP! This causes alot of conflict in passing. If a retailer sells them for less and they are readily instock, who would pay more?

Thank you Trip D This was really fun and can't wait for my next pass.

Does my Put's look ok to everyone?

Is it me?? Am I next? Heh Heh Heh! :p

Nice turn-around Backslide, but I'm thinking that your "Punch put" may be going for a shorter trip than the rest!! :D

BC
Damn, how many passes are you getting at the same time?!?! heh

Hey, just two!! I wanted to join the Southern Style Pass, it was a cool idea, but I have a two pass limit! ;)

Don't want to get overextended you know! As it sits due to the Shuji problems, I'll have both yours and this pass arriving dang near the same time. ??? But it's still going to be a hoot, almost like christmas around here! :p

Ya know, I have no idea what I was thinking when I didn't join this pass :( What a great line up of passers

I checked back and noticed that I posted some suggestions on what I use to determine approximate value of cigars BUT I guess I forgot to sign up, what an idiot I am. :0

Maybe I thought I was in too many passes at the time BUT they've pretty much all come through at this point so TripleD, if you want to squeeze me in between Bobbyson1a and Lumberg, I'd love to join in the fun. If you've already got enough players, that's okay too.

Good to see this one moving on its way

Sounds good to me CC  It was pretty idiotic for you not to join in the first place :sign: J/K LOL

Backslide420- I've been too sick to look up msrp's but just by looking it's seems like a good fair trade to me. I wish I could buy the SS for what you paid. My store charges $7 for it. Here is how I would break it down:
46 covers 36
50 covers 37
49 or 47 would cover 30
I may be wrong but like I said it looks fair to me

The way I come up with msrp's for passes is to go to CI first. Find out how much I can buy it for. If they don't have it then I go to JR's and then Holt's. If you can buy a box of 20 for $60 then the msrp is $3. Sounds simple but many people get confused with it b/c of what their local store charges.

According to the link PB gave the msrp on that stick is $1.64

Duane, if you do that then the prices you are getting are not the MSRP. There is only one Manufacturere's Suggested Retail Price. And I can almost guarantee you that the price at Holts/JR/CI is going to be significantly lower.

Of course for those rare Fuentes the going price is usually going to be higher than MSRP.

We have to make a distinction between "going price" and "MSRP" or people will get confused.

The web inventory list MSRP which will be the same price industry wide for that particuylar cigar. If I can't find the MSRP, I use straight retail with the notation next to it to keep the guy organized. Either use all MSRP, or retail from another site but only that site. Or even your home store if you can find both the P & the T there. Just make sure you compare apples to apples.

As for the high end rare stuff I always highlight it in red print on the site. Those takes need to be confirmed by the host, FOGs, etc.

I have had one completed pass using this system (Jollys) and it worked great with many compliments from both newbees and old alike.

Lets keep this discussion friendly on this thread in respect for DDD. The final rule should be check as often as you need to feel comfortable with your P/T and DDD has the final say. And by all means lets have fun :D

Sorry if my post to you was less than respectful Duane no offense intended.

Second of all gunpowder I'm starting to see you as indispensable to have in a pass due to your diligent inventorying skills. I said it before and it bears repeating, THANK YOU.

No disrespect taken. We all do things a little different. I am very thankfull that gunpowder has done this for the pass. By going to CI, JR's, or Holt's is just a very good way to double check your prices. When you do that and see that your puts are equal to or greater than your takes you eliminate the need to double check with me cause that is exactly what I'm going to do to check. Now let's have some fun.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. "Using cigarweeklys cigar database will eventually lead to many problems." DDD is correct with the method he described. It works the best. It is not full proof, but it will cause the least amount of problems.
Thats a fact Jack!

See there! I've been doing something right :p Now back to having fun :D
