I visited my favorite local shop last week (Heros & Legacies in Austin) and was surprised to see a brand new Rocky Patel blend. It's dressed in twin bands like the others in the Vintage Series, but this time they're white. And these also come in 1990s and '92s. The store clerk told me they're brand new and even he hadn't had one yet.

Just curious if anyone here has tried one? The regular R.P. Connecticut blend is a bit tame for my tastes. Wonder if this one has any more clout?

They are quite tasty, and that is coming from someone who hasn't really looked much less smoked anything with a Connecticut shade wrapper in many years.

They only come in '99 vintage! Bit on the mild side for me but very good for a shade!

Oh, is that right? I guess I read the labels too quickly and confused them with the red-label Vintages. They were a little more than I wanted to spend at the time (at $7.50 per stick I believe), but I'm headed back to pick up a couple before too long...

Makes me think I should try one, as I'm in a similar place in what I usually smoke. I was going to say, "except for the occasional Diamond Crown," but upon reflection, I think it's been at least two years since I've even had one of those.

ive smoked a couple of these now and find them to be very tasty. very creamy, buttery, tasting. somewhat on the mild side, but very full flavored in my opinion.

:) I have smoked one of the straight RP Connecticut that I recieved from CI. It was not bad. I just did it and was going to write a reviw this weekend. I do not know about the vintage '99

I took the advice of OutlawD while in their humi a few weeks ago and grabbed one. I am more of a full bodied cigar fan, but this was a nice, flavorful smoke.
