New Igloo coolidor

So leaving in the ceder box with beads in the cooler will keep the humidity correct? Or do you leave the box's open?

I think that the beads alone will keep the humidity correct.
many guys here don't line their coolerdors with cedar, but keep their cigars in cedar boxes (closed, I assume).
the boxes should be enough to provide the aromatic and buffer benefits that lining the cooler would provide.

I'm going to line mine with spanish cedar because (a)I'm an obsessive nutball, and (b)I really like the smell and look of it.

Looks great Scott!

I take the cedar inserts that come in boxes and put that in the bottom of my cooler. You need to get some racks Scott. Those freakin' rock! I've been thinking about dumping the 200ct. and just getting a bigger cooler to hold everything. Decisions Decisions ???

I placed my order with vern for some 65% beads just yesterday.
they can't come soon enough...I'm dying to get this thing set-up already!

Be sure to post a pic when you do get things set. I'll drag out the diggy camera tomorrow to hopefully show you guys the beginnings of this one.

definitely will do.
looking forward to seeing yours tomorrow!

Here are two pics of my Igloodor.... I bought a 54 Qt Marine cooler... It has more of a square shape and had slots so when I stand it on end I was able to put shelves in it... I use Beads and my RH has been at 64% / 65% consistantly (sp?)... The cedar I was able to get really cheap from E-bay and it was the perfect size for the front and back, I tried the double sided tape but it didn't stay so I used a couple of small screws and gently screwed it to the plastic (so far so good), the tape kept coming off even after I left it for 2 days with weights on it.

My Igloodor

Now all I need to do is a "Newbie Sampler Trade"

I had to get rid of the Thompson Humidor... nothing but problems

looks like a sweet set-up to me.

regarding the non-staying tape issue, I did a search recently to see how people were securing the cedar, and industrial-strength velcro was something I read was being used with success.
I guess I'll be giving that a try.

racks are something that I'll want to add to mine sometime in the future. especially if I end up standing it up fridge-style.

and yeah, the newbie sampler trade thing is something that I kick myself hard for not doing.

Awesome work!. How much does the spanish cedar go for regularly? ??? I think I'm going to just lay mine down and just fill it with cigar boxes for now. Still undecided as to whether or not I'll jazz it up. Be sure and post your stuff at cigarphotos.com if you already have yet to do so. Looks as if you ahve it organized very well. :D

Thanks for the pics that's exactly what I needed to see. I thought the ceder was used for humidity but seems its just for aroma, and cosmetic. I have a 125 ct humidor coming my way and already have a 50 ct. So as soon as those are filled which will be soon. I'll be going out and getting a coolidor.

Hey Scott, you gonna leave it flat like a chest type, or are you gonna stand it op like a Fridge?

I thought about making it fancy and standing it up, but I'm just out for storage, not show. I'm going to let it lay flat and just fill it up with what I estimate to be twenty to twienty-five boxes by July. All Onyx Reserves and domestic H. Upmanns.

Man SFG75, you and I must share the same taste profile since I have like a ton of Onyx Reserves as well.

Which particular H. UPmann vitola and brand do you prefer. Maybe I should pick up a 5ver of it.

definitely will do.

Better late than never puff!. I've been busy as of late and haven't had enough time to dabble with picture taking, uploading, and hanging out as much at CP as I use to. I've updated some pictures over at cigar photos and was able to finally get some things downloaded after reducing the pixel size a bit. Here's my new goodies!.

Yeah, I love the Onyx reserves as well. I bought a box of Onyx R. #4's last month, only to find out that month later, they cut the price down to like $52.00, I paid ten dollars more than that when I ordered. Talk about hitting yourself on the forehead. I love your collection, you have some excellent taste!. :)

In regards to the Upmanns, I am very intrigued by the H.Upmann robusto, as well as the Corona brava. I've only had a couple of robustos, and I've enjoyed them every time. I'm definitely adding those to my "have to have" list. :)

Hey Scott,

I just picked up a 120 Igloo on Thursday from Wally World. My first one is the 100 quart deal with that little trap door and it's dark green. The new one is the same dark green color but since its 120 quarts, it's slightly longer. I paid right around $40.00 for this one which I was kind of surprised as I had mentioned the one I got last year was definitely under $30.00. I must have missed the sale :(

Just waiting on the beads which I ordered on Wednesday ;)

You have me curious Bill, is it like mine which looks like this? I'm thinking your 120 Igloo is just like mine, except for the green color. Perhaps they charged more because they added the green color? :p Be sure and post a picture for all of us to see Bill, if not on this thread, at lest do so over at cigarphotos. :) I'm really happy with mine, it's working like a charm and as stated previously in a post, the aroma is just excellent. Who says plastic siding is so bad? :p

Yep, that's the exact model but again, mine's green which is what I wanted so it would "match" my other one. The store actually ONLY had green ones and with sales tax it was $44 and change.

No cigars in it yet so there's nothing to see :(

Nothing wrong with an empty cooler Bill, I'd be thrilled just to have it if I was you. I can't say that I've seen the green ones where I live, but then again, I don't browse that section very often. The wife and I don't visit Wal-Mart that often, unlike Randyb1's wife, to whom Wal-Mart is the mothership. :p $44.00 isn't all bad, I must have gotten mine at the right time or something. It's now going for $38.99 according to Wal-Mart's online page. Maybe you could go back and demand a lower price or discount? If they guarantee the lowest prices, you definitely could make a case for them giving yousome of your money back or giving you credit in their store to buy other goods. Just a thought. Enjoy!. Ordering any more cigars to fill that baby up?

I went to the cigarphotos.com site to get a closer look at the larger photos.

definitely stoked for you.
makes me want mine to hurry up and be running even more!

thanks for sharing.

This thing works extremely well. 70% rph!!. I touch it every day after I get out of the shower in my basement, kind of a good luck thing. Good thing I didn't start hugging it and petting it for fifteen minutes. :)

Yep, sure do. :D :D :D It's never dipped below 70%, though it's been up a degree or two every now and then. I've been in it three times during the past two weeks. The seal works very well of course, I couldn't ask for anything more from this thing.
