Went to Wal-Mart with the wife and kids yesterday and did a little shopping. I'm looking for more space since I've had a lot of cigars fall in my lap(from my pass as well as some recent purchases) and I've been looking for a good igloodor to use. Well, I've fround one. Meet my new 120 qt friend, the Igloo Polar cooler.  I'm going to be buying some beads for this baby sometime next week and hopefully filling it up fast afterwards.

This is the way to go Scott

I bought mine right around this time last year. For some reason, they're on sale this time of year   Ya think it might be the weather or sumptin'? :0

With a 1/2 pound of beads and an inexpensive hygrometer from Vern, you'll be all set ;)

I have been kicking the idea around for a awhile to go with a coolerador. Do you need some cedar in there as well as beads? How much is recommended? Just a few of my many questions.... :D :whistling:

You should have bought two. You'll have that sucker filled in no time at all!

I know what you mean, this was the last one that they had!. I have a smaller cooler that at the time, I though would be all that I would need for my collection-wrong!. Expansion is a good problem when it comes to cigars. As long as I keep it out of the way(sight) the boss-lady(the wife) doesn't mind. :p :whistling:

No reason to line it with cedar. Just store your cigars in wooden boxes.

Hey Scott, you gonna leave it flat like a chest type, or are you gonna stand it op like a Fridge?

Must be that time of year....

Went to Costco today and they've already started putting out the camping stuff SOOOO,
picked up a 150 qt. Igloo Super Cooler/hatch for $59.99 (10 bucks cheaper than last year). :D

Now if Vern just answers my email about the stand....... ???

WOO HOO!!!

Everything from both 58's and the 54 fit in the one cooler!!! :D

Now I can defrost the freezer (as in, 3 empty coolers to put stuff in while it defrosts. )

I thought about making it fancy and standing it up, but I'm just out for storage, not show. I'm going to let it lay flat and just fill it up with what I estimate to be twenty to twienty-five boxes by July. All Onyx Reserves and domestic H. Upmanns.

It's exciting isn't it psyktek? I don't know what is more exciting-prepping the thing for use, or dragging it home from the shop. My wife asked me how I intended to load that thing in the car. I would've surrendered my seat to it and ride the roof if it ultimately came down to it, that's how thrilled I was.

I didn't figure this out until just now. The reason why I got those empty ones from you was to do just that. They are sitting in my basement still in the box. When I start making purchases next month, I'm going to do some reorganizing and rounding up the loose sticks that I have that a box.

1/2 a lb for that big of a cooler? will that work? right now I am using a 1/2lb in my 48ct. I was thinking of getting a 100qt now that my 48qt is full.

ahhh! I just walked in the door from costco and saw about 5 of those things stacked in the back of the store. I was very tempted to get one, but that's a helluva lot of space to fill, and I don't know that I've got the restraint to keep from going into serious debt in order to pack that baby with goodies! :0

Ahhhhhh, beads...check.............now just awaiting the nice shipment of cigars from CI.

right on, scott!

I placed my order with vern for some 65% beads just yesterday.
they can't come soon enough...I'm dying to get this thing set-up already!

Anyone have pics of the inside of their coolidor without smokes in it. Kinda wondering how you guys lined the spanish ceder in it. And are there any good guides on how to make one? I clicked on the link on the homepage but its a deadend.

Thanks Steve

Steve,

I wondered the same thing myself - went to my local shop inquiring about cedar. He told me the best thing to do is use the cedar cigar boxes the cigars come in. That's what I've done.

If you need any, let me know - I'll hook up with you and drop some off (The Cohiba XV box is not one of them - get that straight!!! ) My local shop leaves them out for anybody to take (including the real nice Monte De la Croix box, doubling as another of my humi's, I picked up last week!!!)

Oh man thats the one I was going to jump on. lol So leaving in the ceder box with beads in the cooler will keep the humidity correct? Or do you leave the box's open?

I'll let you know before we hook up again if I need some of those boxes George.

Steve

Be sure to post a pic when you do get things set. I'll drag out the diggy camera tomorrow to hopefully show you guys the beginnings of this one.
