New Find on Cigar Bid!

So if someone has bid $60 for 7 of 10, does that mean they'll pay $60 a pop, or $60 for all 7.

$420 for 7 Sharks...That smacks of a return for sure!

Heh heh heh....420...that's funny

I'll sell somebody my last shark for $59 plus FREE shipping. Available for a limited time only!

It is listed under "boxes" so what's the possibility that the (1) is a typo? Anyway to verify with CBid before it ends? If someone gets a box of these for $60, that would be sweet. :)

Hey EA...... I got a bridge for sale...... :sign:

If the bridge deal falls through, I've got some land that will be real nice for development in FL. All you have to do is remove a few gallons of water!!! :whistling:

I learned my lesson with Cigarbid early on. They have been disguising things like this for years. Nothing you can do if you win, they have your credit card info so they've got you.

Buyer beware...

3) Bid Cancellation Policy
All bids are final. Only CigarBid reserves the right to cancel bids. However, a bidder may modify his/her own bid during a 15 minute grace period after the bid has been placed. Please note that this grace period is suspended during the last hour of an auction. See Optional Bidding Features for more details.

Wonder how high it will go. I'll never do business with CBID again after they screwed me on shipping. Their auctions are very misleading. This is false advertising in my opinion.

How did they screw you on shipping Rod? I agree they have a lot of misleading auctions, but I can't pass up the price on Gurkhas; they're less than half of anywhere else I can find. I think the way they sell the rare Fuentes is even worse than the misleading auctions.

Cbid is the devil..plain and simple...cigars shipped from there are so dry they might sponateously combust taking them out of that ugly bag they ship stuff in

I think they are a pretty good resource for merchandise. You do however need to read the fine print.

FOCK that! :-( It can be slightly misleading, but as stated prior, you should ALWAYS read the fine print and if you still have any doubt; E-Mail the owner of the auction, esp. when you have conflicting things on it.

Hell, at that price - I bet a bunch of people were licking their chops and dreaming of a new sports car!! ;-)

Please enlighten some of the rest of us:

How are they deceitful in their shipping practices?
How are their listings of "rare" Feuentes misleading?
If one would choose to business there what should they be wary of--such as the word (SINGLE) at the end of a listing.

Good questions...

The amount they charge for shipping is listed on the auction page. Typically, you get better rates if you can combine won items. They also allow you to ship your items as they are won or, if you bid a lot, you can combine your shipping to once a week. Personally, I have not had any problem with their shipping practices.

As for "misleading" listings, they are notorious for auctioning off a fiver while showing a full box of cigars on the page. This doesn't bother me too much as I always read the fine print. In the instance of this auction, though, CBid had this listed on their "boxes" page, and they show a full box, but it appears to be an auction for only a single. (Look at all the box listings on the site and you will see that the number of cigars in each box is shown in parenthesis after the listing title (for example, Torano Signature Toro (25)). For the #77, there is a one (1) after the listing.

I know this a long post and I apologize. The main things to remember when dealing with CBid, IMO are:

1. The item(s) pictured with the acution do not tell the entire story. If anything, they confuse what is being auctioned. Read the description to know what you're bidding on.

2. Do your research on prices before you bid. You often find better prices outside of the auction.

3. If you bid a lot, combine shipping to once a week. It will save you $$.

4. Use auto-bid and make your first bid what you're willing to pay. Do not get cuaght up in the frenzy of bidding.

Others can add their thoughts. I'm sure there are many. :D

CBid is the Dark Side  Beware it can be very addicting.... Do do your homework and know your prices. Set your limit and hold to it.
