New Corona Cigar HERF

Shiba,

Definately would love to have you down here. It would have to a sunday due to work. I say the Corona store down in Orlando off of Sand Lake Road. Anyone?

Sounds like fun. I'm busy this weekend though. The Corona store is fun if you haven't been. We could also meet at my house if you want. There's a nice smoking spot on the back patio....

That would work even better. Yeah this week is bad for me too. What about you Shiba? Anyone else in the area? I wonder if JimK is in the area for more training...

Edits: was a multiple post, now it's just misc ramblings....

How did this get here? What's up with that? Did I hit the button too many times? How do you know when to double-click and when to single-click? That seems more like memory and experience than understanding. Ever try to explain it to somebody?

Back to your regularly scheduled thread....

Ok, went to the new corona store last night and had a great experience checking out the new place grabbing some cigars and a Presidente beer. Apperantly they do not sell Miller Lite or Coors and have beers from around the world which actually was a great addition to the ambiance. The staff was very helpfull (almost too helpful, in that I was asked by every one if I was looking for something in particular) but thats cool. I picked up 1 DC Maximus, 1 CAO Italia, 1 RyJ Anni, and 1 La Aurora 100 Anos (Sizes I dont recall) any ways all for $40.

I plan on making more trips to the store since its a walk away from where I work. I can actually see the store from the second floor :)

And to mention I smoked the 100 Anos at the store last night and while the smoke was great the taste was a little harsher than I wanted and was told that it was common for Dominican leaf to have the quality to them. Which actually explains alot. I think next time I am in there I will try either a DC Maximus or A.F. Don Carlos, or even a Champane by I believe Perdomo. Should be good times and its a great store to visit.

Brad Somehow we missed each other. Wife and I went to Dexter's for dinner and then walked over to Corona. The owner was there (Jeff) and we talked for a bit. While I was looking over the inventory, my wife had Jeff pick me out a couple of CAO cigars so she could get me the free hat! I picked out a Padron for $4.00 and it was very tasty. Jeff overheard me tell my wife that the cigar was so good I wanted to buy a box. He stopped by with an unopened box and gave me the sales pitch...They are only $2.75 if you buy them by the box! ha, ha, ha....I told him not tonight, but my wife gave him the nod without me noticing. By the end of the night I had a whole bagful of goodies to take home!

They don't yet have the inventory of the other store, but still a great selection. Some cigars are priced right, others are a bit high. The regular Padrons were ok, but the 26's and 64's were high. For example, the 1926 #9 was $30 for a single. Ouch!

Anyway, had a great time and looking forward to spending some time there. I think it's going to be new favorite place to go.

Cheers,
Joe

Joe Sounds like you had a good time as well. Good to hear that. Ok so Greg, you, and I are in agreement for this saturday from 5PM - 9PM at the Lake Mary Corona store. I look forward to it.

Greg do you need directions?

Let us know if anything changes from now until then and see you both and anyone else who might want to make it on Saturday November 5th at 5PM.

Brad

Sounds like a plan. I am looking forward to it... Hopefully I can knock off this cold by then but we should be good to go.

Can someone please PM me the directions... I will be coming from I-95.

I will get them out to you tomorrow. coming from 95 will be easy. Do you know where I-4 is? You would take that near daytona towards Orlando (West). From there the store is right off the exit in Sanford/Lake Mary. I will get better directions out to you tomorrow. Thanks.

I-4 is in Alabama right? :p

Of course I know where it is. I go see Mickey from time to time too :p

Ya, if you can get me an exit number or something. I am familiar with where Sanford is.

Edited for Spelling

Yes its in Alabama. Right as you pass Arkansas! :)

Actually its 101A is the exit on I-4. Its a roundabout exit which will bring you to a light off the exit and you want to turn left at the light instead of going straight. Once you turn left onto 46A make an immediate right into the Albertsons shopping center which will have a sign for Albertsons and a Cinemaplex. Follow that road through all the shops and you will see the Corona Cigar store just on your right a few store up. Big sign cant miss it. See ya there.

Should be fun. Looking forward to it.

Hey Charlie - We'll be smokin' one for ya!

Who's Charlie? :)

Oh and by the way I spoke with Jeff during lunch and he said there is an art festival that day and to be careful with parking. Other than that he said it should be a good time.

See ya Saturday.

Charlie is known as Stogieman around these parts. He was my herfing buddy until he moved to New York a while back. He had talked with the Corona guys about getting a part time job there....wouldn't that have been cool! Anyway, he's been reading this thread and I wanted him to know that, while he'll be missed, we're gonna go and have fun without him!

In that Case. Charlie you should not have moved to New York and if you ever come down to these parts I have a smoke waiting for you. And yes What Joe said we are gonna have a good time, now fly down for a couple of hours... :)

Hey Joe,

Do you know how much they want for one of the Camacho Liberty 2005 coffin boxes. I see you can get them online for $14 but thats a different form and prices dont always compare. Oh and they moved the chopper into the front foyer. Nice bike. I want one just like it in Blue... :)

Thanks for the directions... I will be there rain or shine!!! :) Can't wait!!!

Well another cigar get together has come and gone and it was a blast. Thank you both for coming out and sharing a few smokes with me and for the wonderful smokes. I look forward to doing it again soon. Thanks.
