Need public speaking advice...

90 seconds.....damn, that's hardly enough time to give your name.....good luck...I always try to interject some humor at the beginning, especially if I can come up with something funny about the subject matter. Seems to put everyone, including myself at ease right off the bat. Just finished a 90 minute presentation, that I found out about last night at 1730. That was fun I tell ya.

Hey guys,

I'm back and survived! It went suprisingly well, my professor was impressed that I was the only one that managed to follow his instructions (not going over 90 seconds..he had a reason for that), and I made eye contact with him a few times, along with quite a few of my classmates. It was pretty funny when I made eye contact w/ some people b/c they seemed to not expect me to look at them. Overall, it was a great start to overcoming my fear - I didn't stagger my voice or anything like that, like I usually do. The one piece of advice that seemed to help me the most was taking my time before starting...I took a deep breath and just went to work. Thank you all for your help, I learned a lot from not only the assignment, but from you guys as well.

Victory cigars to be lit later on!

Too late for my suggestion, but I usually just put a cucumber in my pants right before and try to make constant eye contact with the ugliest chick in the room. No one listens to what you are saying and you don't need to worry about messing up.
