I don't usually ask for stuff like this but this is just to hard for me to do alone.
About 2 months ago my dad was injured in Iraq. He was with an armor platoon in Ramadi when he was called out on patrol after getting back from a 13 hr. patrol. Upon getting to the hot spot, he had to dismount from his HMMWV and proceed on foot. His squad was ambushed and forced to fall back into cover. The first shot hit him high in the leg and the second got him in his forearm. The leg shot was all meat and was clean in/out. The arm shot shattered his ulna and severed his radial nerve. He has limited mobility and feeling in his thumb and first three fingers. His pinky is the only digit with full mobility. He came home to the states a couple of weeks back and did some physical therapy. When he got back to Germany (home for another year) he was greeted with the news of having to have a bone graft. The doctors say the graft will have to come from his right hip so walking will be tough in the next couple months for him.
Like I said, I usually don't ask for stuff like this because I feel I can handle stuff on my own. This recent news has got me pretty torn because you just don't think of you dad as a weak person. My dad is a workhorse who taught me the value of a hard days work. He could really use some prayers even though he (nor his son) are terribly religous. Thanks guys/gals.
