I asked my father to throw together a simple humidor for me and told him I would pay for the wood and his time. He surprised me on Christmas with a humidor he converted from an old end table.

This is the old piece. It used to open from the drawers.

Here are the after images. I may go broke trying to fill it!!!

I just got done reading the seasoning thread and have it going as I type.

That is VERY nice. I would be thrilled with something like that. Nice work to boot! Way to go KusoJijii's dad!

that looks fantastic, and its even better that your dad made it for you. Great Christmas present. I'm sure its something you will cherish for a long time.

Beautiful humidor! Sounds special also, seeing as how its been refurbished by your father. Definately something to keep in the family!

Just thought I would suggest that if the vent under the humidor (shown in the picture) is blowing up hot air, you might consider finding another place for it. I've found any kind of vent blowing air on my humidor has potential to disturb the humidity. Keeping that in mind, this might not be the best place to store your humidor and cigars. Just a thought...

Enjoy it though! Nothing beats filling up a new box!

Thanks for the concern and tip. These picture were taken at my father's house and I made sure not to forget it when I left!!

Beautiful! As a woodworker I really appreciate the fine job that your Dad did. A VERY nice conversion indeed!

I am sure you will treasure it forever, and well you should!

That turned out beautiful. Very nice job. Your dad is quite creative.
Not sure you should keep it over the heater vent. IMHO

That is a very impressive Humidor that your Dad made for you. As the others have stated that is going to last you a very long time.

Looks great thats one to pass on to your son !!!!

That is super cool. That will be something to be cherished for the rest of your life. Then passed down.

Your Dad did a great job on the conversion. Enjoy your present as I'm sure you'll have fun filling it up!

Nice job on the conversion. It also means so much more than something you'd purchase. Very thoughtful on Dad's part!

I need to bookmark this thread, so I can write you next Christmas, as I bet it will be full, and you'll be searching "coolidor" information, or you'll be hitting Dad up for a larger humidor.

Very nice conversion, a family heirloom for sure.
