Mold or Plume?

PM me the vendor, Drew? I want to confirm some suspicions I have...

I too received some moldy sticks from a vendor last year.

I emailed them and they gave me a similar line.
"Yes, we did receive your previous e-mail with photographs.

We've analyzed the pictures and we can see that this is not fungus.
Look at the nice oily wrapper of the cigar. These are essential oils
coming out during maturation process. You can easily wipe it out with
your finger or a smooth brush. Mold is greenish, smells bad and cannot
be removed. Try it and see. Also you can smoke one cigar and you will
see that the taste is not affected.

If you have some concerns please don't hesitate to contact us.
Have a good day!"

Well, I could see this was going nowhere so I decided to try what they said to do.
I wiped one of and smoked it. It was fantastic! In fact, I wiped them down and those smokes were the best Punch PC's I've had to date.
Go figure. The mold did not return, nor did any of the other cigars I had with them develop mold issues.

For once I'd like to hear a vendor say, "Ya, that's mold! We'll take care of it."

More and more often it's the deny, deny, deny schtick! Even when they offer a refund it's along the lines of, "If you THINK it's mold, you can send what you have back."

I'm starting to feel like we're dealing with mechanics telling us the blinker fluid needs to be changed.

I want to buy a box with mold, ask for a refund, and throw them in with some 75% beads. See what those guys say after they get the picture of them at the end of 3 months. I wonder if they'll spout the plume line, or just try to tell you that it's now an albino cigar?

A number of people have PM'd me that a CigarPass advertiser has been caught saying this "it's plume" BS to them, and hassling them about a return. If it is as I suspect, and the people in this thread are all talking to the same vendor... it's a good enough reason to never purchase from them again, IMHO.

The irony is that as I am posting this message, I am treated to an advertisement from said vendor. So much for "The BEST Customer Service"...

Anyone who has gotten moldly cigars, and the run-around from a vendor, PM me the vendor's name...

Guys... PM me about where these various moldy cigars came from. I can't help unless I have the information.

It's definitely mold. If you have the option to return it, RETURN IT. Nothing worst than inhaling mold. No matter how much your brush it off, mold is nothing to mess with. I freak out when I see mold in my house. Good luck.

Mac has been a little busy lately Moki, but I'll make sure he PMs you as soon as he has a chance!
