I've seen info about humidity getting too low or too high, and I've seen info about temps getting too high, but I haven't seen anything about temps getting too low? Can this be a problem?

I moved the humidor out of the office, which catches the west sun in the evenings (in Texas that's hot) and into the bedroom. But as we wrap up winter time here, we still get some cool nights. I like to open up the windows at night and it may get in the mid to upper 50's in the room. Is that too cold for cigars? Does the 10-15 degree change in temps cause problems?

I would say you do not want to go below 55 degrees. Lower than that and you will have some serious difficulty keeping the cigars properly humidified.

You also do not want large swings in temperature. 10-15 degree swings is not good for your cigars. Here are the levels that I keep my cigars at. They age well and smoke great.

64-67 degrees and 58-62 percent humidity. I have used these levels for over 5 years now, and am very pleased with the results.

My 1.6 cu ft thermoelectric refridgeador is currently at 51 degrees and with 8oz of Viper's beads, holds 65-67% humidity at all times. Just be sure you can keep the RH up there.
