So...
I jump on the bandwagon, and ordered THIS HUMI - actually, my wife talked me into it (really..)

So I paid the extra $$$ (a LOT of extra $$$) for 2nd day air thinking it is safer as ground shipping to Alaska take forever. Less time in transit = less chance of damage.

Dave at Cheaphumidors has been great- sends me a tracking # and says it's on the way. WooHoo!! - shoulda been here yesterday. :angry:

No info on the tracking page- no entry scans, depature scans, nothing. I emailed Dave and he verified it was sent to UPS. I email UPS and no word. Now, I get an email from Dave this morning...

THEY LOST THE $#@%& BOX!!!!!!
how in the HELL do you lose an 80#, over 2 square foot box?!?!?!?!?!?!

Dave has been awesome- has another for me, but now they want even DOUBLE for 2nd day air, as instead of the weight, they are going by the dimensions of the box! So it is coming ground after all.

FOCKIN' UPS :angry: ... and my brother drives for them...
 
Have them send it to me. There is no way in hell my lazy ass postperson could just sit that on my mailbox. I'll make sure it gets to Alaska, but maybe not until 2007 :laugh:

you aren't paying for the second one to be mailed right? Did they issue you any refunds... This sucks :(

sucks, it will turn up though. probably fell off one of the conveyor belts in one of the shipping facilities (my ups guy tells me it happens all the time). i have been tracking a shipment all day, my wife xmas present is due today and i pray they don't loose it (some sweet diamond earrings for her). hope it all works out and you get your humi.

Sorry to hear that Swissy. I hope it gets resolved the right way. You shouldn't have to pay for any additional shipping.

They should give you the same shipping you had before they lost the first one.

Sorry to hear that Swissy. Dave is a good guy and he'll make sure you're 100% satisfied. I've done business with him before and ran into some issues...he took all the responsibility and made it right... :thumbs:

I still am having hard time grasping the idea that a box, weighing 85#, bigger than 2½ square feet, and with a DAMN BARCODE LABEL on it, can just disappear. Amazing.

I'm still waiting to hear back from Dave regarding the whole shipping thing. I told him they should send it next day air on them! Regardless, I better be seeing some change back since it's going by truck now. I personally feel the shipping should be done at least the same way- and at the same damn cost

Thats a gorgeous humidor... seems cheap for a 1200 stick box... I wouldn't (couldn't) pay that for one, but then again I'm a low-life! :laugh:
 
Swissy, as I had stated in another thread about Domestic shipping FedEx,UPS,DHL ect...have a lost/misroute of 8-12% depending on the source of the info. One thing I will say is that your vendor should have done some homework and found the DHL routes all of there Far East work through Alaska and has avery large hub there. If I were to use one of the large integrators that would be the one I would use and I would have them (DHL) confirm the scan at "that" Hub. sorry to hear that you are one of the 10% :angry:

Hi, Swissy! Yes, package delivery, or shall I say a lack of package delivery, whether delivery is by USPS, UPS, FedEX, or any of the other package carriers, can really stink and suck at times. But, on the other hand, I guess that we must take into consideration the very large volume of packages that carriers handle on a daily basis. We need to keep our fingers crossed, and hope for the best. Swissy, I certainly hope that you will receive your shipment without any further problems or delays. Have a very Happy Holiday Season! Dave has another for you?

The reason I ask is becasue I have been waiting to post this about my experiecne with Dave on this unit.

On Nov. 17th I contacted Dave via his on line help feature and asked him some questions about the unit. After a pleasant exchange, I used the "make an offer" and submitted a bid to Dave. The offer was rejected. After an few email exchange and explaining to Dave what I want (glass door, etc.), I receive a confirmation email from Dave that says quote "I can do that". Again this was all on Nov. 17

On Nov. 18th I emailed him to confirm the order, ask if he needed any more info and ask how he notifies customers about shipping. No response.

On Dec. 2 I email him (with his confirmation email attached to my email) asking him when he thought the units would be in becuase he said they would be arriving in early Dec. during our chat session. He responded that day that they were due to arrive that week.

On Dec. 6 I emailed him and asked if the units had arrived and when they would be shipping. I asked him becasue the following week I was traveliing for work and needed to make arrangements if he shipped that week. I also asked him for a confirmation number for my order and again if he needed any other information from me. He responded that day that units were waiting to clear customs.

On Dec. 11, after seeing that other here had received their notifications, I contacted Dave about the status of my order. He responds that when it ships I will receive a tracking number.

I then respond that I do not even have an order number from him. Upon checking, he tells me that he does not have my order but has three units left.

To make a long story, he tells me to place another order via the website and he will process it. After doing that, he then tells me he doesn't have any units left.

My last email exchange with Dave was on Wednesday when he said he was still sorting out his orders and may or may not have a unit for me.

To say the least I am not happy. I feel I did everything I could to facilitate this order. To top it all off, he even put a unit for sale on ebay.

I am still waiting for Dave to make this right, but as of yet I have not heard anything from him and any attempts to resolve this have been initiated by me.

I do think this is a good and was looking forward to receiving it. However, at this point I am far frokm please at how Dave conduct business.

Swissy, I am sending you a PM to ask question.

So as of right now I have nothing and still waiting for a response from Dave.

I have all the emails and this account is accurate.

I am still holding out hope that Dave will make this right, however my faith is waining.

I will let you know how this plays out.
