major traffic accident

Sorry to hear about your car, but very happy to hear you and your wife are ok.

guess if you look on the bright side, I'm damned glad to see how annoyed you are, rather than hearing about news much worse. Your angels were on duty man!

Thank God your angels were doing over time

I'm praying for a very quick recovery for you and the wife.

Glad to hear too that a HIGHLANDER can take that kind of impact and keep the passengers relatively safe.

Damn, that was a scary accident…
I am glad you and your wife are ok, it sounds like it could have been a whole lot worse.

Rob,

Sorry to hear this. Glad you and your wife are safe!

All the best,
Rod

Wow, that sounds like a terrifying experience. I'm relieved to hear the two of you made it out, despite the loss of your vehicle. Wishing you and your wife a speedy and complete recovery.

The Wife® and I can definitely relate to being hit by someone running on fumes in the brain pan. While we were still dating, a ditzy bobble-head ran a red turn signal, turned in front of us as we were doing about 50 mph (the posted speed) through the intersection, and totaled my wife's truck. Broke her ankle (requiring pins) and my knee. The cranially-challenged bimbo had no insurance either...and filed for bankruptcy when our former insurance company (which treated us rather shabbily) went after her.

The only good part of the whole mess was personally wringing settlements for the both of us out of the insurance company that impressed a couple of lawyerly acquaintances...and I even got to make the adjuster cry in the process...well, almost.

So, I feel for you both...am glad you came out of it as well as you did...and wish you the speediest of recoveries, both physically and materially.

Damn, Rob... :0

I'm glad you and your wife are doing as well as you are. It sounds like it could have been much worse. I hope you are back to your old selves (mentally and physically) as soon as possible.

Best wishes, bro...

once again, thanks for all the well wishes. tonight the wife and i have a date with mr vicodan and mrs muscle relaxor, so it is all down hill from here. Tomorrow the medical checkups begin, i am in more pain today than the past 2. I also recevied the police report, the scumbags did NOT have insurance, fortuantly we are covered to the hill. take care guys, and thanks again for teh well wishes.

Took a look at those pics. You guys must have had an angel looking out for you. Say a prayer to god that everything is OK by the looks of things it might have been much worse.

Get better soon and I am sure you will still get something out of those scumbags just get yourself a good attorney.

GD man you are one lucky dude.

I was rear ended back in Feb.

One thing that I took away from that is I should have just went straight to a lawyer and sued the crap out of them. Ive had more crap dealing with the asshole insurance people. Im just now getting things wrapped up. They basically black mailed me into signing a release in exchange for reimbursing me for 50 days of rental car fees that were charged to my CC. I know dumb me.

Keep a log of everything related such as phone discussions. Write down all you can remember about the incident before you forget. Keep track of ALL lost time no matter how incidental.

DO NOT deal with them on any level. Just get a lawyer and come up with a nice round figure that you think will make things right and tell him to call you when the check clears. Seriously. I learned my lesson the hard way.

Spoke to my attorney today, so all is well.he says we are the right course and let the insurance co makes the next move. my company has a good reputation to settle claims quickly and fairly, i am not looking to get rich, just compensated for my lost wages, medical bills and new vechicle replacement, the car was decleared a total loss by the appraiser, so now we wait and see what they will give me so i can get me a new one (thinking of the new Mazda CX-7).
pain and suffering is another story,my ribs are still killing me, doc thinks there is a hairline fracture on a few of them, explains why the viodan was not effective, my doc hooked my up with some percoset and a larger dosage, still hurts, but at least i can sleep. PT is now on order, my first session is friday afternoon, and we are scheduled for 3-4 times /week for 3 weeks.

I can't tell you how lucky we feel, i went to collect my license plates today, and i took one last up close look at the car. I started to shake when i looked inside, the shock of it all is finally starting to impact me.
My wife and i thank all of you for the well wishes and advice. i will keep you advised of the situation. thanks again, we are truly blessed to know each and every one of you.
Rob
