Woo-hoo! I'm #4. Given the state of hold-up of my *OTHER* "1st pass", this may well be my 1st pass-box to arrive (nudge, nudge! ;)

I'm a *TOTAL* newbie at this (and to premium cigars, in general -- about 8 weeks into "the hobby") -- if Cohibasurfer wants to drop me a note with recommendations, I will *NOT* be offended. Otherwise, I'll just go with what looks good.

Looks like a great lineup! I've got some nice maddies
set aside and ready to go.

Just returned from Socal Herf III in Orange, CA. Kudos to
the OC gang: Poker, Filly, SLR, Ralph, Barry, Mike at Maxamar's
et al. Great smokes, food and dessert! There was a super raffle
(ok, I didn't win anything, but it the offerings were VERY impressive
and generous), and nice auction. Looking forward to next year!

Bring on the maduros! :p

Hello Pepe and the gang,

I have looked over the list and since I will be the first in line for the pass, I thought I would update you with my grabs and replacements.

I will be taking the following:

#2 El Rey del Mundo Robusto Larga
#3 La Gloria Cubana Corona Gorda
#4 Aristoff Brazilian Churchill

And will be replacing with the following:

Onyx Reserve - Mini Belicoso
Macanudo Maduro - Hyde Park
Astral Tulanga Valley - Pyramid

This is my first cigar pass - so please tell me if this is fair or not....
Any help or comments are welcome...

This box has to make the long trip out to you Gekko. With luck you will have it Friday, maybe Monday. When you get the cigars check them all out. You might change your mind, although I can't fault your picks.

Pepe... Question? Are all these cigars Maduro wrapped? I wasn't aware the Oliva O was available in Maduros yet?
 
The wrapper is as dark as a Padron maduro. I bought two of them to check them out. The one I smoked was lovely. Full of flavor. Very well made, excellent draw. I enjoyed it and will likely buy a box in the future.
