Puh-lease.
I have been a Yanks fan since the 70's and I do have faith in my team.
I had faith in 1998 when the Sox only won 92 games in the regular season and got beat down by the Indians 3-1. Yanks won the division and had 114 wins and the WS.
I had faith in 1999 when the Sox only won 94 games in the regular season and got beat down by the Yankees 4-1. Yanks won the division and had 98 wins and the WS.
I had faith in 2000 when the Sox only won 85 games and missed the playoffs. Yanks won the division and had 87 wins and the WS.
I had faith in 2001 when the Sox only won 82 games and missed the playoffs AGAIN! Yanks won the division and had 95 wins.
I had faith in 2002 when the Sox only won 93 games and missed the playoffs AGAIN! Yanks won the division and had 103 wins.
I had faith in 2003 when the Sox only won 95 games in the regular season and got the beat down by the Yanks. Yanks won the division and had 101 wins
I had faith in 2004 when the Sox only won 98 games in the regular season but eventually won the WS by sliding in as the Wildcard. Yanks still won the division with 101 wins
I had faith in 2005 when the Yanks won the division again.
And again in 2006
And in 2007 we were only 2 wins from winning another after being under .500 at the break.
Summary... Why does a team that wins 2 WS and 1 Division in 10 years talk so much smack? ENVY! In the same span Yanks have 9 Division wins and are 4-2 in WS play. The numba's don't lie.
I won't put my money on Giambi because he is a recovering roid junkie who is always injured. A-Rod and Ortiz are close in offensive stats. So I should bet that Giambi will out hit Manny-me-me who is playing for his $20mil extension. Puh-lease.
If you want to put another fiver on which offense scores more runs I am all about that. JD Drew, Lowell and Tek aren't scaring anyone.
Fish
Edited to fix an incorrect stat.
Typical yanks fan runs at the mouth with stats...
How 'bout the stat that george spends the most in the league to field his team (and has done so for years) and he can't buy a WS these days. george even insulted one of the best managers (of course, Mr. Terry Francona is the best manager) in baseball and made him the scapegoat for a bunch of all-stars who can't play as a team.

FAITH (not stats) in your team.
