Looking at getting into Photography - Recommendations?

very nice, I'll be interested to hear what you think once you get your hands dirty with it. I think my wife is leaning towards the Nikon as well and I think the 70mm-300mm is the only way to go, if you get the 35mm-70mm (I think that's right) you aren't getting any extra zoom than a $200 digital camera really.

Good stuff, Rod. I wish I could head out and take some pics with my new lens but I'm dealing with a cold. Hopefully have some pics when I get back from camping next weekend.
