I come home from work and the wife's sitting on the back porch, deer in the headlight look on her face. I'm like, "What's wrong? Baby okay??" She says, "Try not to get mad..." Uh oh. I stop in my tracks and immediately say, "No she didnt..."

Yep, my baby girl helped herself to one of my wineadors. I made the mistake of cleaning out a few loose boxes the night before and gave them to her to play with. I guess she thought it was okay to go in and get some more. She's really a sweet little thing and smart as a whip, knows not to get into certain things. Needless to say, gots to hunt down some latches.

Unfortunately, or fortunately, the wife disposed of...<sniff>...the destruction before I got home. Said she thought about not saying anything, but figured it would be best to go ahead and tell me as I would surely know something was missing. She did hand me a few bands, some of which were....<huge knot in throat as I type> Monte Reserva, Cohiba EL, and <gasp> Conde 109. She did say that when she walked into the bedroom, she was sitting amongst several open boxes with a cigar in her mouth like she was puffing on it. Heh...heh.... However, it could've been a lot worse I guess. She did leave me the Cohiba Millenium! :D

On one side, that's adorably cute... Daughter wants to be like Daddy.

On the other hand, that stinks! :( But I'm sure you have some to spare! :sign:

Read her a book Greg, Horton Hears a Who dammit! :sign:

Oh man, that is horrible. Take pride man, at least she knows to go for the good stuff.

That's such a cute story!

If your girl's anything like mine, you just can't stay angry at the little angels.

But Conde's...ouch!

Ouch but all things in perspective...your wife really could have told you something was wrong with your daughter...that would have been a worse day than the one you had.

I read the title, and knew EXACTLY where this was going!

Children are Precious! You should save the bands, after all, they ARE from her first cigars :)

Glad to hear she didn't eat them--that could have been ugly.

Sounds like someone needs to start wearing a large pair of mittens around the house. Preferably secured with duct tape.

Sounds like you took it well Greg, I would have punished her for 10 years.

Naaah J/K...she is not to blame, you are! One thing learned I guess, you won't let it happen again. :whistling:

Ah! That's gotta hurt. Sorry to hear that. Tuition to the school of parentiing.
Happy to hear everybody is well.

cypher locks and steel entryways are worth it. :) Sorry to hear Greg, but somehow I think you will make it!! :)

Now how could I be mad at this? :D I actually gave her a big hug and kiss because she was sad for doing what she did. Wife told her she did a bad thing. Poor baby was pitiful. I took her outside and we played for a couple of hours (I smoked the last of the Value Line 500s too :D ).

That's the exact reason I have a cabinet with a lock on it. My little girl would do the exact same thing. She has a fascination with my cigars, and is always asking to have a smell anytime I open it. I keep the door locked in the storage room in the basement where I keep my coolidors.

I'm like you Greg. I'd have a hard time staying mad.

(In my worst Martin Lawrence voice).... Damn... Damn... Damn !!!Man that sucks Greg. I've had a few close encounters as well. I've come home to find the all of the cigars in my desktop humi in complete disarray. I asked my wife what happened, and of course nothing happened. That's when I know she's covering for the princess.

If its any consolation, she is absolutely adorable.

Sorry about the smokes dude...

Yep, I'm in the same boat. My 2 yr old son loves to smell them anytime I'm rummaging through. He's fascinated with them and I've been meaning to get a lock for the vinotemp, not sure what I can do about the coolers.

Good luck!
