Hello folks,
I recently purchased a bundle of the LC 898 from JO and when I opened the bag the sweet smell that these have is some of the strongest smelling cigars ive ever had. My wife usually says all cigars smell the same to her but recently she smelled a JO Victoria 55th and said she smelled some chocolate spice and with the 898 said she smelled chocolate covered cherries. My nose (even though large) doesnt smell that but you can absolutely smell sweetness on them. I will be smoking one tomorrow on our walk and will finish this post and let everyone know how the cigar turns out. Thank you kindly and enjoy your Cuban cigars in good health.

Hello Folks,
Here is a quick pic I took of 5 of them. Its hard to describe in words how strongly these smell but on a scale of 1-10 i would say about a 7.5... Im hoping one of these and a hot cup of coffee with cream in the mornings walk will be a good start to the day, which I feel they will. May ride up to Williams or Flagstaff Az tomorrow and walk the tourist shops with the wife. Will include more after tomorrow mornings walk. Take care and have a great night.

Hello Folks,
Well I had the 898 this morning after breakfast and we had our walk. From start to finish this was an absolutely great cigar to smoke. The construction was top notch, and I only had to do 1 minor touch up with my torch. The tastes of slight chocolate, raisin, black pepper and some honey were there. I also got the barnyard taste however this one was different in that the taste of wheat came through and ive never tasted that before but it was good. The taste of wheat took me back to my aunts home in North Carolina and the fields of wheat and corn they had and that was a wonderful memory. Its strange how certain tastes will make us think of different things in our lives. But back to the cigar the ash held on for a long minute and the amount of smoke I got for the size cigar was aplenty. The draw was super easy as the torcedor rolled an amazing cigar. Walking around town there were a couple people who said they liked the smell of the cigar so thats a good thing i suppose. In the end there was just a little left and I would have liked to smoke more but the wife was tired and ready to head home. Once again JO comes through with a cigar that makes you want more. I almost certainly will have another tomorrow as im off on Mondays and try to let the remaining 23 rest in the humi which will be hard to do but rest is essential. Hope this review may help someone who has been thinking about buying some LC 898 as I will say I recommend them if your unsure. Thanks again folks and thank you kindly for your time. Enjoy your Cubans in good health.

Can we just assume you like Johnny O’s at this point, as it’s the 9th thread about them that you’ve started, not counting two more which you turned the subject towards them in your 77 posts as of this moment?

Well I for one love your JO! reviews so keep them coming! I also bought a bundle of these and handed them out to three of my smoking buddies including one brand new smoker (his very first cigar) and all were well pleased with my selection. I’ve been smoking John’s cigars for 20 years and am rarely disappointed. With a couple years rest almost never. Cheers!

I am going to make a wild guess that @Gavin was simply helping to make this a complete @Magnaflux777 review repository, for the rest of us that do not like to search....

There was a time when if someone joined and 51.8% of their posts were about the same brand, many members might see it as strange. I understand about being a fanboy, and could be accused of it too, but if you look at the entirety of a relatively short posting history and notice an oddity to this degree, I’d expect an eyebrow-raised comment or two. My eyebrow is raised.
I also find it strange that the only threads he has participated in that he didn’t start himself were a happy birthday thread for him, and a thread started by Johnny O. You gotta admit, pretty weird.
I’ve done business with Johnny, am a satisfied customer, this is about an unusual posting trend on the part of @Magnaflux777

Gavin I'm not sure why you find this so strange. I like his cigars and nothing more and as I said I just give my thoughts. There is nothing strange at giving a review. Take care

Gavin...not sure where you are headed with this, I've been around longer than you have at CP. You have a problem with my integrity or Franks say it. No need to beat up people that are feeling good about smoking good cigars at a good price. Kingantz (Greg Lovelace) did cigar reviews of my cigars for years (although the reviews arent available) and nobody beat him up. So, when you come up with a number of 51.8%, you might reconsider spending more time with your family as I think you are wasting a lot of energy. John

Certainly not saying anything against you, sir, not about your cigars, nor your integrity, but if you look at his total post history, it’s just weird! Greg did reviews on everything, not only your cigars. Greg interacted with the community in general, not only in threads he started. We’re not talking apples to apples here.
