For those that don't know, Billy got hurt the last day in Honduras while walking throught the streets of Danli. At first it was thought that he over extended his knee, but it turned out that he tore his thigh muscles and his ligaments between the thighs and kneecaps on BOTH legs. Sorry I don't knpw precisely which ones. But Bill has been in the hospital, which is why I stayed 2 days later, in Tegucigalpa. He was due to have surgery tomorrow, since he has been unable to get onto a plane. He cannot walk or stand on his two feet with or without help. While having surgery in Honduras isn't ideal, he didn't have a choice...until now. I have been in contant touch with him, and it turns out that he will be medi vac tranported on a private flight to Albany, NY and will be in Albany Medical center. Just wanted to let everyone know what had happened and let's hope and pray that everything goes well tomorrow. If everything goes as planned, he will be at the hospital in Albany by tomorrow night. It would be great if everyone can wish him well. He will have to have the surgery after all, but thankfully, it will take place in Albany.

It truly was a bad ending to a great trip....but it could have been worse. I only got back yesterday night and he'll be here tomorrow night. I was afraid he would have had to stay for a while. Thankfully, he'll fix what needs to be fixed here and he'll be back on his feet real soon.
 
Glad to see he's coming back to the states for the surgery. He'll certainly be more comfortable.

I'll remember you in my prayers, Bill. I hope all goes well with the transfer and surgery.
 
I do not know him, but I am sure glad that he gets to have surgery here in the states.

Tough way to end what sounds like a great trip.

Sorry to hear this, but glad he will get the care he needs in the good ole USA.

Here is wishing him a safe trip a good outcome with his surgery and a speedy recovery!
 
WOW, that's just crazy to hear. I hope everything works out well for Bill in the end and thank God he is coming home for the surgery.

Sure Bob. And for anyone else who wants to speak with him, he will hopefully be in Albany Medical Center by this evening. Lisa (his wife) will be taking his cell phone to the hospital, so PM me for his #.

I'm glad this is working out, as it sounded like he may have been in for a long stay had the flight not been available!!
