plenty to enjoy, athletic competition, food, fun, and Johnny Walker seminars. oh, traditional dancing and costumes. paging AVB!

The Virginia Scottish Games in Alexandria might be more doable for AVB. Usually held 3rd weekend in July, but I've heard they moved it this year due to construction at Episcopal High; sometime in September (when it's cooler...lol). Piping, Highland dancing, harp playing, piping, Scottish dogs, Introduction to Gaelic, piping, various musical entertainments (besides the piping) not to mention the food and the beer. Truly a great weekend!

that sounds great, wish i could go!

I made it to the Minneapolis games in 2003 and they were great! They are usually the 1st weekend of July. I have also been to the Salt Lake City games held in Murray in June if I remember..they were cool too!

One of these days, I am going to plan a vacation around Scottish games...assuming I can drag my wife along..

We have a games here in Boise too in Sept. It's been going about 10 years and gets better every year.

Oakbrook,Il. is really an upscale part of the chicagoland area, i'm expecting a really classy affair, don't know how long this has been held, but it sure sounds like fun. lots of hotels in this area with accessibility to major roadways.
