No matter what they claim, take that number and divide it in half to get near a real life total.

I agree wholeheartedly IF you leave the cigars in boxes. If one were to take all of their cigars out of boxes and lay them in the cabinet as singles, stacking them from the bottom of the shelf to the top of the next, the Verona (the cabinet that I have) might hold 3000 sticks. :p Of course, I wouldn't be able to smoke many of the cigars on the bottom of the stack. :0

My Verona currently has around 32 boxes (by memory) in it with around 400 loose sticks in drawers and trays. It has some room in it, but not much. That is not even half of the rated value of 3000 sticks. That said, the one in the link above probably holds around 2000 to 2500 in a realistic setting.

I can give you another option. My humi was getting pretty tight at 1200 sticks, I could have done another 100-150 if I had too but instead I did some rethinking. I went through and found what I was smoking and what was just taking up space. The extras went to the troops and that knocked me down to about 1000. I also tried to stop buying boxes and just get 5 packs of sticks for a year. Pretty successful on that so far and I'm down to about 850 now. Things are much easier to find and get at, I have an overall higher quality selection (not saying much considering where I started :p )and I can spend a little more on other things. When I'm down to 750 I'll re-evaluate.

I currently have 2 Avallo AH-1200 humidors. They're both full. Very full. I had to strategically position the boxes after my last purchase and they barely fit. I can:

1. Stop buying cigars(yeah right)
2. Start making coolerdors
3. Sell 1 or both of the end tables and get a cabinet.

I can only say great things about my experience with Bob Staebell at "Aristocrat" my hummi is a beautiful piece of furniture and thats exactly what you are buying. We modified one of the models to my needs with no problem. I would cast my vote for him. Oh and the "Set it and Forget it system he has for is humis is outstanding.
