It's almost here

Just called the brewery and they still have it on tap right now think it will "probably" last throughout the weekend.

Also a heads up to anyone local they also have a few 22oz bottles for sale that they expect to be gone by tonight. FYI no phone orders, i tried using a cc and picking it up tomorrow and they would not have it.

Good luck to anyone who can head down and pick up some bottles.

I will be down on sat and hope to have some draught. I will post my thoughts if the mission is successfull.

So... I made it down to the brewery on saturday hoping to get my hands on some KTG.

Got there about 5pm and needless to say there was no KTG to be had. The kegs ran dry friday night around 11 and I missed it. THis is unbelievable, the bottles sold out in 8 minutes and the kegs ran dry in about 80hrs. I am all for limited release driving up the notority of a beer but, the limited amount produced in this case seems a bit ridiculous. Give the people what they want... more KTG. Rant over.

That sucks Gregg, sorry to hear. I am not sure there will ever be a resolution, even if they expand their operations this problem will inevitably still exist. They would have to have a HUGE boom in production to meet demand, hell Three Floyds ramped production to 12,000 bottles this year and still didn't have enough to meet demand. Besides that, I think some of these craft brewers revel in the fact that they have created such a frenzy over a certain beer and keeping it to limited quantities fuels the fire even more. The only relief would be for this boom to bust, similar to the cigar boom in the late 90’s.

Oh don't get me wrong I completely understand the premise behind and the values of limited production and the hype / PR machine that fuels it. However in a case like this were the brewery has a beer where all bottles sell out in 8min and is only available at the brewery for 3 days seems a bit premeditated on the brewery's behalf and only solidifies what you said

"Besides that, I think some of these craft brewers revel in the fact that they have created such a frenzy over a certain beer and keeping it to limited quantities fuels the fire even more"

The fact that this beer has now hit the pinnacle of a HTF brews and the fact that a small relatively unknown brewery in NH produces it leads me to belief that the dramatic level of limited production may be a little self serving and intentional on their behalf. I guess when I went there and discussed this with the servers it just left a sour taste in my mouth when I wanted the sweetness of a pint of the great.... :D

Don't you think you Hop heads should share in the responsibility for this madness. It's not all the brewers fault.

Doc.

Absolutely, Doc. Just like with cigars, the harder something is to get, the more hype it has, the more people want it. This extreme beer phase is going nuts at the moment and I see no end in the foreseeable future. For every one brewery that either A) ramps production to meet demand or B) falls from public demand, another will pop up in its place and thus continue the cycle. Some people will get tired of it and stop chasing the elusive beers, much like people don't care to chase the fall/winter Fuentes. I, like many others am not at that place yet and unfortunately that just adds to the problem.
