On the recommendation of the guy at a B&M in Austin, I tried yet another DR. I had explained to him that I have not enjoyed DRs in the short 6 months that I have been a BOTL. He assured me that I would not be disappointed. So I laid down the $16 for a single 100 Años Belicoso. Since I am currently on a business trip, I was unable to let it sit in the humi. I carry a tupper-dor with me and use Boveda humi packs. I was able to let it sit there for 2 days (probably made no difference). ..OK I am rambling.. I am still smoking it, so I am still in euphoria..
Anyway, the guy at the B&M claimed that it tasted like an aged OpusX (he actually steered me away from the Opus line -- he said that they really needed a few years of age). The construction was perfect, the draw perfect, the burn perfect, the taste extraordinary - light, but flavorful at first - growing to spicy as I smoked it. It never got bitter - though I burnt my nose hairs on the last few puffs. Less than 3/4 inch left in the ashtray.
Needless to say, I will be making the trip back to Austin before I head back to TN. I am picking up a few to take home with me and let sit in the humi for special occasions.
If you have not tried these, I highly recommend them. I know I am still a noob, but these are awesome smokes.
