I'm looking for some vegetable glue for some minor cigar repairs. I'm sick and tired of losing the wrapper due to a poor band removal or minor jostling.

Does anyone know somebody who sells cap glue? I figured cap glue would work good enough for minor body repair on the cigar and for rebuilding a cap that splits when cut.

PS. Yes I know this is my second topic in the last 5 minutes, but they are both cigar related and I did a search for both issues and came up empty. :p

SM, if you can wait until I send my package to you, I can send you a whole brand new package of food grade pectin gel, which is what is used most of the time. But I am waiting for USPS to deliver new boxes....you are at their mercy...

I can wait. Thanks!

What you want is "pectin" -- any supermarket should carry it, just ask.

Just to further clarify, Pectin is used in the making of jellies etc, check in the same isle as sprinkles, flour, sugar and such..

Tis the canning season. You should have no problem finding this.

Doc.

You would think so. But I've been to 5 different ones looking, with no luck. I was able to find the powder verision of it, and gave that a try while I keep searching for the liquid.

isn't the liquid just water and the dry stuff? (I've never tried pectin to patch a smoke, I use Gary's method and spit on 'em! =)

This is what I buy... it comes in liquid form already and the box has two 3oz. pouches in it... Put it in a small mason jar or tupperware and t will last for quite some time...

We just started carrying cigar glue from CREDO at the shop. I don’t recall the exact price but I think it’s about $3.50 for a 5 ml / .17 fl.oz bottle. I’ve tried this and it works great.
