ISO Phil [or ifo on contacting him]

He had posted on Cigar Weekly in June.
Am pretty sure that he doesn't read his e-mails as I have sent them to 2 of his addys.

I am also curious that he is not able to send anything out even tho he works at UPS.

While I only lost a few Opus Xs out of this [not the same as what Moki lost], I will try 2 more times to get ahold of him.

Am still hoping that this will finish on a decent note.

:( Still no return call, after several messages left with live persons. I am afraid that by phone, I have failed. If you wish to try it, you can do a Google on Phil's home address, there you will find a good phone number. ???

If you talk to him servbig be sure and mention to him that people are trying hard NOT to compare him to Shuji. See if that wakes him up like a whiff of smelling salts.
MAN O MAN, the hair stands up on the back of my neck at the very mention of Shuji  :0

Phil would have to go a long way to top Shuji's BS but I have to say, I too am concerned by his actions regarding Moki's property.

I am actually far more concerned by his Lack of action in the face of many attempts to contact him. I have left many phone messages and called at various times and spoken to two other members of his household and he still has not returned my calls. This is far more damaging that the time factor to me. I can understand taking a while to follow through with a promise or a trade, but refusing to communicate is bad. I still want to hear that side of what is going on though.

Welcome to my hell. :)

I emailed/PM'd him several times a week for months -- and tried calling him as well. I even cc'd his father, who was the only who that ever replied to me.

Lather, rinse, repeat, doing this for 4 months, and you'll lose your patience eventually...

Phil,

In reference to my previous correspondence with you that dates back to April of this year:

From: andrew@AmbrosiaSW.com
Subject: The humidor -- please read
Date: April 30, 2004 1:29:06 AM EDT
To: Phillip.Whipple@HCAhealthcare.com

I’m still wishing to obtain the remainder of the humidor from you so that I can use it as a proper, functioning humidor. Can you please send me all of the credo units, dividers, hygrometers, and everything else that came with the first shipment?

I am missing:

3 Prometheus credo units
3 Prometheus hygrometers
6 Mahogany drawer dividers

If you could please ship these items to:

Andrew Welch
14 Alvin Place
Rochester, NY 14607

…I would very much appreciate it.

Regards,

Damn...Certified Mail will surely let us know if he's dead or not  . What kind of humidor you buy from him Andrew?

This is about the prometheus Ashton VSG ER humidor as I recall.

Yes. The plan was that I would purchase the Ashton VSG ER humidor, and I'd then send him the humidor and 50 of the 100 VSG ER cigars. After I'd already made the purchase, Phil said he'd changed his mind on the cigars (I sent him a few of my own sticks for him to sample, he didn't like them, he said). I said that's fine, I loved the cigars, and I'd just keep all of them.

I shipped him the humidor, in the same packaging that it was sent to me in. When he got it, he said the humidor was toast. We had UPS come out to look at it, and he shipped it back out to me. It looked like it had been dropped pretty badly a few times, and was indeed damaged.

UPS denied my claim, saying it was "improperly packed" even thought it arrived via FedEx to me in the same packaging in fine shape. They implied I should have had it packed at one of their UPS stores, so despite the fact that it was insured, and I'd paid for the insurance, I was out of luck.

I had a friend of mine who is a wood worker fix the humidor up for me gratis -- he even refinished the thing, and it looks and works pretty good right now. I told Phil I was having it fixed, and that I needed the credo units, hygrometers, and drawer dividers sent back to me. Inexplicably, when he returned the humidor to me, he only included the aforementioned hardware for one of the 4 drawers.

This was back in April. I basically ate the cost of the full set of cigars (I really wanted only half), I ate the cost of the damaged humidor (UPS sucks -- my friend rocks), and I'm still waiting for the credo/hygrometers and drawers so I can use it properly.

I've PM'd Phil many times, mostly I get no response. The same with calling him. I've emailed him, and his father... still no luck. This is my last shot.

I'm not mad; I'm sure there is some extenuating circumstance -- but I don't see why he can't just return the damn things.

Yeah. He's probably been in a coma since march. You're a better man than I if you're really not mad. Sounds like you were screwed from the start when he pulled out of the deal.

Welp, we can all have fun and track it together at http://www.usps.com/

Under what handle? His "phil" account appears to be zero'd out, with no posts from it. Was it another account?

Thanks CC. According to that, though, his last post was April 16th (prior to him disappearing), and not June. :/

Hear anything as of late?? Certainly it's there or almost there by now. ??? ???
