Most online shops charge the state tax you are located or having the cigars shipped to. With that.... some don't charge any. I tend to use those as much as possible. There was a rumor that CI and it's subs send the taxable amount to your State so they can collect the tobacco tax. I had a friend in LA get a tax bill in 2019. Not sure if it continued. I personally didn't but was sent emails that the numbers were sent on my orders from 3 sites. Thank goodness I didn't get dinged. I have since stayed away from those sites unless it's the only option available. I don't need a surprise bill for thousands after the fact. Living in Cali and it's 65% tobacco tax, makes it damn near moronic to support any B&M with out a huge hit on my bank account. There's not any B&M's closer than 45 mins anyway.
