Is Pittsburg choking?

From what I saw on that last play by Warner, he lost control of the ball before his arm went in a foward motion. His hand then came into contact with the ball as his throwing motion went forward and he pushed the ball forward. But when he lost control of the ball while his arm was not in a forward motion, it cannot be considered a forward pass, it is now a fumble.

Still a great game and both teams should be proud of their efforts. A great way to end the NFL season.

This was a classic game right out of a made-for-television movie. Arizona fought back from a 13-point deficit to take the lead and almost certain victory in the closing minutes of the game. In a final do-or-die drive, Pittsburgh went the length of the field to retake the lead with a highlight reel touchdown catch. Arizona had one last chance to win the game. With 15 seconds and no time-outs left, Warner takes the snap. He scrambles to avoid the rush while searching downfield for an open receiver. His time runs out as the Pittsburgh defenders converge on him. His thought? Get rid of the ball before he is sacked. The ball comes out as he’s hit. Forward pass or fumble?

That call will be debated for quite some time. I preferred that it would have been a clearly fumbled ball, but that wasn’t the case. Whether or not it was a forward pass or a forward falling fumble will be argued to death on talk radio and the Internet. Should it have been reviewed? Yes. No doubt the NFL will issue a statement as to why it wasn’t. It was a non-satisfying end to an incredible quarter of football.

Mr. Stone is correct. The NFL would have gotten a lot more mileage out of an Arizona win. It would have been a classic American story of the underdog triumphant in overcoming adversity and long odds. I doubt that the ref’s ‘gave’ Pittsburgh the game, as I heard on talk radio this morning. Both teams left everything on the field.

Steelers Won end of story. It seems to me, whenever the Steelers win, everyone finds away to make excuses to why the Steelers won. Bottom line, using refs as an excuse of why the Cards lost is just the reason why the Steeler has 6 of these championships, because there is no excuse. By god also, I do not know what game you guys were watching, but even with the last fumble, was overturned as a incomplete there was one second on the clock. Now, yes one second is a big difference but I am not going to put all the reason why the Steelers won because of that one play. (To me, it looked like it was a fumble. The ball was coming out before it was going forward. When you clock the ball back, that is not a forward through, if you look closely Farrior hit Warner in the arm which then his arm came forward WITHOUT the control of the ball. That right there is the key you are all missing. Must have his arm go forward with the ball in his control.) Bottle line, no matter what anyone says, The Pittsburgh Steelers has 6 of these things we call Vince Lombardi Trophy.

Yep.....it's disheartening and takes away from what both franchises accomplished this year!

Was there bad officiating in this game.....yep!

Is bad officiating in a Super Bowl inexcusable.....yep!

Did the officiating favor one team......yep......if you look at the four or five plays being talked about ad nauseum which hurt the Cardinals and you look at the four or five questionable calls which hurt the Steelers you will see that the Cardinals benefited from the poor officiating but talking about that would not set well with the "Cinderella story" revolving around the Cardinals.

The Cardinals have a lot to be proud of........don't diminish it by perpetuating excuses for them.

Should I start a possible 7 time world champion chant yet? Now, got a question, what would we call our 7th superbowl victory? 5th was one for the thumb, the 6th was "6 pack" or "one for the other thumb". Looks like the hardest thing steeler fans will have to figure out this year is what to call the 7th superbowl.

You can call a 7th "Something you wont be getting for a while"

And so it begins.

GO STEELERS!!!!

Now let's get back to summer stuff.

For a while=8 months?

"7" is supposed to be a lucky number, so why not call it "Just lucky". :sign:

JK, even though I am not a fan of the Steelers, I agree they probably have the best franchise in football.

Go Cleveland :sign: !!! JK again.

Ken

edit to add: Can't wait for the season to start.

Awww...Hell...

With apologies to Charlie Daniels.

Save all your Black & Gold paraphernalia, 'cause the Steelers are gonna do it again!!!

From the hills up in Mount Washington to the lands out Cranberry way, and everything in between them is our home. And speakin' just for me and some people from the Steel City, we got a thing or two to tell you all.

This team it may have stumbled but it ain't never fell. And if the Brownies don't believe that they can all go straight to hell! We're gonna put her feet back on the path of Superbowls and then God bless the Steelers once again.

And you never did think that it ever would happen again. In the town of three rivers. You never did think that we'd ever get together again.
Well we damn sure fooled you. We're walking real proud and we're talking real loud again in the town of three rivers. You never did think that it ever would happen again.

Cause we'll all stick together and you can take that to the bank. That's the cowboys and the hippies and the rebels and the yanks. You just go and lay your hand on a Pittsburgh Steeler fan and I think you're gonna finally understand.

Here we go Steelers, here we go!!!!!

And now back to summer.
