I was doing a little reading about major cigar company’s revenue. Of the top 10 in the world, 3 are based in the US. Specifically Florida (Jacksonville, Miami & Tampa). Of those 3, the top earner is……Swisher! Their top 2 earning cigars account for more revenue than the next 5 companies combined!

As I said, interesting to me…

IIRC, Swisher owns a metric shit-tonne of brands you do know, so it is probably a corporation total and not just the Swisher branded smokes, themselves.

from the article…

“In the United States, Swisher Sweets Original and Swisher Sweets Diamonds are the first and second most popular large-cigars in the country. Together, the sales of the two products exceed those of the next five best-selling large-cigar brands combined.”

According to their website:

"Sweets — but our portfolio includes a variety of cigars, cigarillos and smokeless tobacco products for discerning consumers.

What began as a small operation more than 160 years ago has grown into the Swisher International Inc. enterprise that ships more than 2 billion cigars per year to over 70 countries."

They claim a 30% share of the cigar market. Interesting, indeed

Well, considering that Swishers are in just about every gas station around the world, it's not incredibly surprising. I mean, people drink Bud Light, too -- which is pretty much the Swisher of beer water. Amirite?

My Grand Daughter bought me cigars for my birthday. And a bottle of whiskey.
What I got were Swisher Sweets Perfectos, and Jim Beam - and that just made my day. :)

Many years ago I used to work in a cigar store. We'd often have younger people come in asking what cigar they should get. I'd ask them "well, which ones have you had that you liked?". If they answered "Swisher Sweets" (which happened a lot), I'd say "Every cigar I have is better than a Swisher. But...if you like Swishers, you may want to stick to those because they're way cheaper and once you smoke a legit hand-rolled cigar you won't go back".

Now they sell them a $15 Acid...
