Anyone have any ideas on boy's names? My wife and I have a few ideas if we have a girl, but the name we liked the most for a boy turned out to be one of the most popular names of 2008. We're not looking to have a very common name, like John, Michael, Chris etc.. but we also don't want to do the celebrity "My baby name is an accessory" thing. So nothing that would come from the Zappa or Phoenix family tree :)

So...you want an uncommon common name?

How about Jensen? Jerome? They're not unique or interesting but at the same time I've never met one.

Jackson? Kellen? Greyson? Graydon?

Coughlin, Vernon, Albert? Angus? Blair? Maximillion. Robert or Henry (but pronounced in the french manner)

We named our son (born May 13) Daegan Everett Dawson.

Daegan came about kinda by chance. Everett was my Great Grandfathers name on my mothers side (he died 11 days after Daegan was born - 5 living generations - RIP Grandpa) and my Great Grandfathers and Great Great Grandfathers name on my dads side. Guess those kinda names are coming back around.

Daegan is kinda a unique name if you ask me :)

Rheyson pronounced "Reason"

Danger as a middle name... or Blaze... lol

How about Jesse... it did me well all these years.

Best think you and your wife can prolly do is sit there and go to a baby name website and just hunt, write down the ones you like, then brainstorm to agree on one.

Browser freaked out, double posted everything

Want something different, try Claudio, been good to me for a long time. :D

Go with Seven ala George on Seinfeld after Mantle!

John

Landon
Gregory
Blake
Brandon

BTW... What's wrong with Michael?!?! I've done pretty well with my "common" name... :D

Archibald has always been one of my favorites. TheWife(c) wouldn't go for it with TheBoy(c), but it will be my next dog's name. :sign:

There's a reason many names have lasted for generations. A strong, traditional name can be more of an asset than a liability. Remember, it's your kid's name for the rest of their life; they have to live with it (and learn how to spell it :) ).

For another idea, naming your child after your father or grandfather is a great way to honor them and your child.

Just some thoughts from a dad whose kids are surrounded with "unique" named schoolmates.

Seamus keeps getting vetoed at my house as well as Alton, Sean Patrick, and Bynum.

I like the name "Mason"

Others we considered were Abraham and Judd

When Kim and I first found out she was pregnant we were looking at all kinds of names, we decided on either Kaiden or Aiden if it was a boy.

I'd say Josh fits your criteria quite nicely. :whistling:

I'd give you a good boy name, but I wouldn't want you to steal it. :p My boy is going to be born here in a couple of weeks...however, since my wife and I are Latvian, his name is going to be a Latvian name. You probably wouldn't be naming your son a Latvian name...My best friend just named his newborn Axl.

What's the last name we're working with? Couldn't find it in your profile...

How about Arthur, Curtis, Keith, Otis, Reginald, Horton or Horace?
