....and it's the #13 Te-Amo Revolution Ovalado.

I can't remember smoking a Te-Amo that I liked, so this should be interesting to try.

I haven't had one in 20+ years, please let us know what you think of it.

If you haven't already purchased them don't. PM me your address. I have 3 left from a 5'er I purchased about 4-5 months ago. It cost me nothing to ship from my office and I need the room in my singles drawer. I smoked a couple and they were just "OK" but I'm sure the last three will sit there till eternity if I don't get rid of them.

Thanks for the offer Serg. How about a trade? I could stand to free up a bit of room myself.

Our generous BOTL Sergio came through for me in spades!

Thanks brother for the Te-Amo smokes....looking forward to trying one this weekend.

I remember just about everything in their line having Mexican leaf in it several years ago......
Has anything changed with them in that regard? Never was a fan of anything you smoke from Mexico......

Yes it has John, that's what peaked my interest. While it is a subtle change, I thought it was still worth a try.

From CA...

"Cigars have been sold under the Te-Amo name since 1963, and for the lion’s share of that history Mexican law prohibited them from being made with anything other than tobaccos from that country. Changing times finally allowed the Turrent family to seek out new tobacco leaves and explore new flavors. This Ovalado, which incorporates a bit of Nicaraguan tobacco into a blend that relies heavily on the leaves grown by the Turrents on their farms in Mexico’s lush San Andrés Valley, is quite simply the best Te-Amo we have ever smoked—and it’s the least expensive cigar on the entire list. Under the silky wrapper is a rich smoke with a core of leather, coffee and a spicy finish."

I personally never had the all Mexican te amos but understand them to be a bit spicy if not harsh. The newer blends put out as A.turremt and te amo world selection blends are different. I had a couple of the Cuba and Nicaragua blend and thought they were alright as an inexpensive, straightforward, no thrills smoke. Not bad but not great. I have never really sought these out as in my opinion there are a vast amount of other smokes that either fit my profile or would like to try because they sound like they would.

But for less than $5 a stick?

....don't forget the Murcilago's from Espinoza.  Mexican San Andreas wrapper, Mexican binder, and Nicaraguan filler.  I always thought they were seriously under rated.  They were also unfortunately way overpriced when they were introduced which really hurt their acceptance.  When they went on sale, they were a great deal.  I think I blew through three or four boxes of 'em.

They hit the mark at that price point. You could usually get Olivas, Padrons or others around that price point also at the devils site. Maybe I need to revisit them. I'm sure they were no worse than recent x000 ROTT or fresh from the B&M. In fact they were a pretty good smoke, especially when your not looking for something you have to pay attention to.

There is something very tasty and slightly spicy about the San Andres wrappers. They are almost like Mexican chocolate (abuelita) they have an almond, cinnamon and cocoa flavor. They really are good, I just gotta be in the mood for em.

Just looked through the list.  I have had several on the list though in different vitolas, most notably La Historia by EP Carrillo and the Illusione Fumas de Amour.  The one that looks most interesting to me is the Matilde Renacer.  I am a sucker for boutiques i guess.

I never knew it was because of Mexican law. Thanks Gary, learned something new. I just figured they weren't very adventerous, or had a certain market they catered to like the Perdomo's.

Never tried them Tom, but I trust your judgement if you say you burned through four boxes. ;)

Completely agree, Tom.  A really nice smoke at the sale price point!  Picked up a few on Isy's recco and thought they paired nice with a cup of strong coffee.

oke-don't hesitate to test drive a few Renacers. I've really enjoyed them. Very flavorful, creamy with just a hint of tang. One of those profiles that is kind of a go-to for me.

Thanks Gary! Really curious to see what your impression on the Te-Amo was if you got to smoke this weekend?
