I'm gonna let Floyd handle posting your cigar packages (there's some damn incredible smokes in there boys) -- this auction is his baby!

A Texan....Speechless?!?!?!?! No Freakin' Way!!!

It's taken on a life of it's own, Brother! ;)

PM to you Floyd.....

You know, now that I've had some time to think about whats happening I do have a few things to say. LOL!

First and foremost, thank you to each and every member of this board. This is a great brotherhood and the generousity that has come from this place, both big and small, is beyond anything I would have ever thought. Rod, a big thank you for allowing Floyd and company to host this auction here. Matt my brother, thank you for stepping in with your help. I know that has added many extra $. Andrew and Floyd, you both keep telling me that you really haven't done anything...that its no big deal... Well, for people like you, I agree... its not a big deal. You do something like this because its in you to do. Its a giving spirit that makes it "not a big deal". I am a very lucky man to have such great friends.

Hey Raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalph, I think it is the other way around ;) My end is on it's way Friday, you know the deal brother, ANYTHING! ANYTIME! :)

I'm really impressed with the generosity I've seen today. The members at CP truely are the best! This place wouldn't be what it is without you guys.

Awesome show of generosity here, from both the folks contributing and those doing the bidding! Also Rod for allowing this to be held here!!

Kenny, you can't imagine how touched I was when I read about how you took that family in and the pictures said it all..My wife and I had been talking about doing the same thing a few days earlier, but with two in college, we realized we couldn't do it afterall. I can't imagine what it must feel like to have lost everything, I don't think anyone could unless one experienced it first hand.

Keep up the great work and everyone, bid high and often!!!

And for those wondering what being a BOTL is all about - you're seeing it right here. Awesome show everyone!

Only wish I could do more, Kenny. If I had my way, everyone of those displaced people would have their lives back.....

If I may I'd like to clear up what I think may be a misunderstanding to some people. When I first posted up asking for help I stated that my wife and I adopted a family that had been relocated close to us. Some people have strung that together and assumed that we brought them into our home. They have been living in a hotel room. What I meant by adopting was to make this family, for lack of a better words, "my project" to help get back on their feet. Our consideration to open our home was a short discussion since my daughter moved in with her new born twins.

When this first started this family felt that they would be living here in Texas and putting the kids in school here which was first and foremost on our minds to get taken care of. So my request for help was in the form of gift cards that would allow them to buy school cloths and school supplies. It then became apparent that housing was a major problem and would be the cause of thier plans having to change daily. On Monday, I got a call from Alex and Billie to tell me that there has been a house secured for them in Slidell, LA and they would be leaving in the morning to go check out this place and attempt to get settled so they could get the kids in school. They saw an opportunity to get closer to home and took it. Its temporary (6 months) but its a start. I am so happy that they now have a place to start rebuilding their lives. I will continue to funnel donations to this family.

This project has taken on a meaning for me. The level of generousity has moved me greatly and has me thinking we can impact another family. I will discuss with the auction coordinators and if we feel its the right thing to do will post it up for all.

Thanks again people..... you have really stepped up to the plate.

Still very cool, Kenny! Sorry for the misunderstanding but at least things are looking up for them!
