I'm outta here

Thanks ALL! I'm in FL and have just settled into my new digs. Furniture was delivered on time and I've pretty much got everything put away, with the exception of frames to hang on the walls. I had originally planned on seeing a few of you on the way down, but fortunately, I was able to jump on the auto train from Lorton VA to Sanford FL. If anyone here is thinking of driving that route, DON'T. The auto train was a great ride, the people were friendly, and the food was outstanding! Never thought I'd say that about train food.

Isy great to hear your getting settled in. See ya soon

Glad you made it. Just curious but how long was the train ride?

According to AMTRAK's website, it's a 17.5 hour ride. Definitely a nice way to see some of the country side....... :)

The Auto Train is scheduled to depart each afternoon at 4:00pm, although it may actually leave a bit earlier if boarding is finished and the engineer receives a green light to proceed. The Auto Train is scheduled to arrive at its destination at 9:30am the next morning, making this a 17.5 hour trip.

That sounds cool..wonder if there are sleeping cars or you just sit in your seat the whole time like a plane.
