I'm done with CigarBid

The cigars finally arrived.

I called cbid about the $30 shipping charge (which should have only been $11). She was very rude and said that how can they make a profit off an item that I won for $1. So I said, "so you're making up for the low cost of the product by charging high shipping prices". I was very nice and not rude. She responded "we have over 10,000 customers and i never get complaints like this. It costs us $7 to pack each item, yada yada yada, we do not make up the cost on shipping". She was contradicting herself constantly. Total bitch. Very rude and defensive. I was extremely polite and was not trying to argue with her. I told her all I was inquiring was why the shipping was so high. I explained I have my own business and I do a lot of shipping w/ UPS and I know it does not cost $30 to ship out an 11 lb box. So she starts in with immediately being defensive and argumentive. I didn't ask for a credit and I explained this to her, all I asked for was an explanation and nothing more.

In any case, I'm still done with CBid. They are nothing more than a scam. While I'm sure you can get good deals on 5 packs and the such, the merchandise is a scam and I do not support company's which make up for their low prices by charging high shipping rates. Reminds me ebay.

I'll stick to my local cigar shop for 5 packs.

good man,sound like you handled it well. as if their cost of doing business is your problem. if they were so concerned with profit, they would run auctions that the bidding started at what their cost is. either way, that was unprofessional to even say what the rep said.
customer service, like a lot of things these days is in the toilet. take care.

Cbid pricing holds up what the market demands.

It's a great place to sample many different smokes when you're just starting out tho!

IMO, a post on the newbie sampler thread will net you much better results for a better price than on CBid.


note: except for those yummy Pimp Sticks! Whooo-ah! Can only get them from CI

Wow, you really had one of the worst runs of luck I've seen with them. Most people have much better results when they call their CS.
