I need your help - Contest

Remember that at some point you'll have to clean it so a non-porous finish would probably be best.

What level is this room (basement, attic?) I'm thinking basement? I would go with something really simple and not with box tops. The room is going to look really claustrophobic. The ceiling right now actually lets the room "breathe" I would say put in some recessed cans to give you more light and a basic color maybe a light brown ceiling. G1

I say stick a smoke-eater in the ceiling! Then give the remainder the box top design.

Mirrors, for when you and the wife feel the need!

In the basement.

Andy, what are your favorite places to visit? A reminder of a pleasant location can always be appreciated. For instance, if it is Hawaii, you can paint a map of the Hawaiian Islands up there. A light background will serve to brighten the room.

I do not have any great ideas onther then me sitting in the chair next to yours right now and smoking.

Thanks for the contest, but more important, please keep your chin up. This is a hell of a time and I can only say good on you for maing the best of it.

what's your favorite drink with your smokes? is it alcoholic? if so... your room should perhaps celebrate not only the luxury of the leaf, but the luxury of libation as well. maybe a coaster or bottlecap collage if its beer, or bottle labels if it's wine or licks? this could be done relatively easily with a nice piece of plexiglass or something of the sort to fit up there. Good luck brother, it gets better.

Come on out...There's a smoke waiting. But I warn, it still cold here. Only 17° tonight and getting colder. Oh that's right. It's indoors. LOL

I did something similar to this in my living room, except pulled the crown molding down and put rope lighting inside for a really slick "up-lighting" effect.

Anxious to see what you come up with.

Personally, I'd gather advertising posters from wholesalers and use a poster collage of brands like LFD, Fuente, etc.

Since you have all the bands id take some kind of wooden board and place the bands on like so:

Glue them and maybe place some sort of clear finish over the top give it all a shiny smooth look and it would keep the bands from deteriorating and crumbling or whatever could happen to them exposed.
Hope it helps sorry to hear about your situation.

I think you should paint the ceiling with clouds and blue sky so it will make you feel like you are outside on those 17' days...
