I need a cigar...

The Oliva V is a pretty strong cigar (a damn good cigar with some age on it) and might overwhelm a newer smoker.

I'd like to recommend the Oliva O in its place. Oliva makes good cigars and the O won't knock you on your ass as fast as a V.

I to would suggest the CAO line, maybe start with the Gold Line and move around. Here is their website to give you an idea of the different cigars that they put out:

Have fun tryin' different sticks and remember one thing, enjoy it........ :)

Get yourselves a sampler tin of Acids and smoke through all of them... make it a night to remember... :D

Come on John, we're trying to help him, not kill him.

:D

I plan to stay around. After becoming of age I took a pretty big interest in cigars. I may definitely get in on one of the newbie trades if I can set some additional cash aside.

Glad to here it. Your going to like the place, your wallet is going to hate it.

I've been following this topic as my brother is getting married in July.

I've decided on the Aurora 1495 Series Corona as the main cigar for the occasion. Good size, not too large, and although it's rated a full bodied smoke, it seems more of a medium to me....also very flavorful. It seems a good choice for the novice as well as more experienced smoker. IMO.

I'm also moving it to the top of my everyday smoke list.

From what I hear about acids, I think I'll pass. Funny thing is before joining this site, that was the first stick I was going to try. Thank god I found cp before that!

After looking into a lot of these cigars, I feel like I need about five of them! I might have to get a couple and celebrate the entire week. Trouble is no humi, I don't want to ruin a quality cigar.

Short term a plastic baggie would work. You could easily set up a tupperdor (tupperware humidor) that would work till you spring for a humidor.

I'll send you a pm with some stuff.

I'm wondering if the Oliva Serie V would have too much of a puke factor for new smokers?

I think you might be right for a "newbie", but, the Flor De Oliva Maduro, or the Oliva Series G fairly cheap and very decent smokes for the beginner guys, especially the Dutch Master crowd!
Best

well guys my buddy and i went to the store and picked out some smokes. i decided on an oliva serie o because the price was right and i could get it in a tube. we smoked downtown in chicago on the river and it was an excellent suggestion. you can bet your ass the rest of the suggestions will be smoked up during this weeks festivities and larger celebrations. thanks again.
