I have sad news.

I'm absolutely astouned by the outpouring of responses on this thread since it was started a few days ago - obviously Brian was a special BOTL, and I'm sorry that I didn't get here soon enough to get to know him.

my thoughts and best wishes to his family and close friends in this time of loss

I didn't know Brian well at all...more by esteemed reputation, really...but his name, his words, and his deeds were things I always expected to see on CP. He played no small part in making the community what it is.

We are as ephemeral as smoke. Friends, like cigars, should be enjoyed and appreciated while they can be...with the good ones remembered, always.
 
I am totally shocked blown away! Although I have been absent for a few weeks, I am glad that another BOTL let me know about this thread.

You were one of the good guys Brian, and you will be missed! My prayers and thoughts go out to your family, and loved ones.

I can't believe this!

Brian is someone we all should strive to be. I wish to be half the man he was ... he was a great man and will greatly be missed!
This community will not be the same without him.

One stick will be lit tonight in his honor!
 
I did not know Brian but i wish i would have had the chance to. My condolences to his family and friends.
 
CigarPass, and the world in general, have suffered a great loss. Brian was a truly unique man and I will miss him.
 
I hopped on CP Monday and began reading this thread in utter disbelief! I got so choked up I wasn't even able to make it past through the third page let alone post anything. I never had the pleasure of meeting Brian in person. I tried when he recently toured the country and missed him passing through NJ by a day. I just wanted to extend my deepest condolences to his family and those that were closest to him. What a tragic loss! I'm off to burn one of the sticks I received as part of Brian's unending generosity as I'm sure many will shortly. RIP #1, you will be deeply missed.
 
I remember meeting Brian earlier this year, and he was telling me he was taking a cross country trip in an RV with his wife. I'm glad he got to do something adventurous before his illness consumed him. You will be missed, Brian.
 
Very sad news and my prayers go out to Brian's family. A wonderful tribute by his son in this thread. Rest in peace.
 
I am weeping as I write this, I only met Brian one time at the last CP Herf in Las Vegas. My wife and his wife got along famously, we hung out and talked and it was like I had known him all my life. I am really saddened by this news, I just learned today. I am going to pull a God of Fire that he gave me out of the coolidor and smoke it with all you guys in the chat room in a few.
He was such a bright spot in this world, he will be truly missed and my heart goes out to his wife and family, I still can't believe it..
 
I won a contest of Brian's back in January, and like many others here, was blown away by his generosity. I was off the board over the weekend, and didn't see this thread, but I got a text Sunday night letting me know the news. Monday morning I smoked one of the cigars he sent me. And I'll be heading outside in a little bit to join in with everyone else for a smoke in his honor.

RIP Brian, and to his family, m deepest condolences.

Our community was only visited by your dad for a very short while - but you can clearly see in that short time his impact. The man was a guiding light for this community. Clearly from your posts, much like his legacy remains here - his spirit lives within you.

Each of us see life as a carefully crafted tapestry - interwoven with life's challenges, relationships, events, places, experiences and pleasures. However, we continue to look at the back of that tapestry trying to make some kind of sense of it - with all the loose threads and knots and such. The reality is - your father is now looking at the front of the tapestry and sees it in all the wonder of its true beauty. He now knows the truth.

You, gentlemen, are your fathers legacy - I know he was extremely proud of each of you - and I know the world will be a better place because you are his sons.

Good luck to each of you. I pray your family feels no pain, but instead rejoices in his wonderful life.

Unfortunately I have never had the opportunity to interact with Brian directly, but his presence here was - and will always be a great asset to this forum.

I never had the privilege of meeting Brian. But it is obvious from the testimonials on the pages of this thread that he was an extraordinary person! Rest in peace, Brother!
 
I leave for awhile and this is the first thing I run across. This is truly sad.

I know it is late but prayers for him and his family.
