Well, after many loads of boxes and furniture I am finally done moving! Thanks to several friends helping out it didn't take long to get the majority of things moved in, but I came to a big conclusion. Next time I move, I'm hiring a moving crew. It's too much of a pain to do it yourself. Anyway, just wanted to post this so those that keep a log of peoples addy's would know that I have a new one. And it is in my profile as usual.

I say that EVERY single time but I never do it. Anyone out there actually use a crew? If so, how much do they typically charge and how did it go?

Amen man, I just moved a few months ago, total PITA, especially when you run your borrowed truck into a carport...

But feels good to have the stuff in and set up doesn't it?

I have moved three times in the last 14 years and hired movers each time. It's still a PITA, but not as bad as doing it yourself. You still have to pack and box everything and then unpack at the new place, but moving it from point A to point B, the physical part, is a snap. The movers do it and my back doesn't hurt for the next week. Last move cost around $800. Distance was 22 miles. Well worth it in my book. Especially with the amount of "stuff" and furniture we have.

I just finished moving into my new place today. Now I have to spend days unpacking all of my stuff in my bedroom. Of course, I've already got my cigars unpacked and will be having one out on the back deck in a few minutes. Moving all of my stuff down a flight of stairs at my old place and then up a flight here at the new place definitely sucked, but I guess I'm young and can abuse my body like that :whistling:

Sh!t... moving is when you find out who your true friends are! :whistling: I always like the guy that says, "Sh!t yeah I'll help out. Give me a call." Then the SOB never answers when you call!

Smoke a good one and relax B...

Usually pay by the hour. More depending number of guys in crew. 80-100 is normal around me for 2-3 guys. Make sure the company is insured that way if they jack anything up its cool.
