Hypothetical Question

Hello Folks,
Lets say you had a perfectly sealed humidor or other sealed unit and had cigars inside at lets say 70%... If that humidor stayed perfectly sealed for 5 years, should the humidity also remain steady at 70% since the humidor is perfectly sealed and the humidity could not leak out? And also say the temperature of the room its in also stays at 70 degrees. Im sure its not that simple but just curious on your thoughts. Take care folks and enjoy your cigars in good health.

I'd think a cooler would be the closest thing to a "perfectly sealed humidor". I've used a cooler for a year without having to change my Boveda. If it was never opened, I don't know about 5 years, but I'd say it would last quite a while. Assuming no temperature changes like you said.

Hypothetically it should work. But I don’t know if you could maintain a perfect environment that never changes.

You should inquire with those that protect the declaration of independence and the constitution….i think those are held in perfect environments so they don’t just crumble or fade. I’m sure temp and humidity controls are a big thing there.

I have a hard case with an oring in the lid. Like the ones you would use for camera's. I put a 320g Bovada pack in there 3 years ago and it probably has another 2 in it🤷‍♂️. That being said it only gets opened maybe 4 times a year to refill the desk top humidor. 20230403_123642.jpg
Yes I love my infused cigars as well 🙄🤣
