As much as I like beads (I have a ton in my cabinet), Bovida packs are really nice in that there's no guessing and it's pretty much impossible to screw them up.  They'll absorb / give off moisture as required to regulate to their marked set point.  
 
For getting a new humidor to settle down, they may not be a bad answer.

Thank you all for the responses, your knowledge is very much appreciated.

When I started smoking, I figured it could at times be expensive but I really had no clue that this was a hobby. Although, this is one instance where I dont mind being overwhelmed with how much is or can be involved.

Also a side note IMO I hate the salt testing, I prefer a bovida pack. Any RH will do, zip lock bag it, then leave it for a few days and see how far off it is to the RH and either calibrate it to that or mark it down how much it is off , if by any.
