Hoyos...

I'm not a big fan of the regular HDM line in general,

The le hoyo line is much better imo. It is much stronger and is more complex than the regular line and also ages better.

this is wisdom...thanks mike33

like mike33 says...the regular line of hdm's i have never been impressed with.
have tried all but the du dauphin in the le hoyo line and like em all.

and not forgetting that cuban cigars get stronger as they age.
the box of '93 du depute i am puffing from are insanely strong
and the woodiest/cedariest cigars i have...love em.

i have a few boxes of du maire...if for no other reason than the cuteness factor these are worth getting a box or two.

derrek :D

I'm not a big fan of most HDMs matty but I do enjoy the "Le Hoyo Series" very much like the du Roi and the des Dieux. To me they are noticeably different from all the others.

Recently acquired some Epicure #2's from '06. Smoked one yesterday and THOROUGHLY enjoyed it. Smoked very nicely and tasted great. Last week I smoked an Epicure #1 I was gifted from '99... and didn't enjoy it nearly as much. Major draw and burn problems, and not much flavor.

Go figure!

The Epicure #2s are also some of my favorites. I really don't care for many ISOM cigars but the #2 seems to be right in my taste range.

I don't have a lot of experience with these or other cuban cigars.
What I have had, which is probably about 50 or 60, I've determined that I do like fresh ones of every label over aged counterparts.
Of the aged one's the Hoyo's were probably the most enjoyable.
