My co-worker knows that I love cigars and he knows that I am always purchasing new cigars to smoke because I like to try out new cigars or just purchase old favorites. Well today I told him I needed to buy a box of cigars and he looks at me and says, "don't you have enough cigars to last you a year?" I said yeah I probably have enough to last me two or three because I don't smoke every day. He then asks, "why do you purchase more cigars if you already have pleanty to smoke?" I looked at him and said that's a damn good question. I didn't have response to that. I mean what could I have said? He does have a point. Now I ask everyone else, why do we keep on buying more cigars when we already have enough to last us for years??

Well, another response is:

Only a true cigar smoker understands the complexity of flavors and that no two cigars taste the same. You buy in bulk to save money, but buy many different brands so you have something to smoke at anytime of the day, with any kind of food, and any mood you are in. You could say you have some cigars that are 'untouchables' for 6-12 months so they can age.
 
So that I can stand in front of my humidors, whistle, sing (I do BTW ) and have a choice. Each time I select a stick it's an exciting moment.

That's essentially like asking why people buy extra meat and throw it in a big freezer. You know you have plenty of meat back home, but you know it will eventually get eaten. With age, the meat does not get better. However, the cigars will.

Why buy canned foods in bulk (Sam Club, anyone)? Because it will get used!
 
Does he have a pantry and fridge full of food? How come he doesn't have just enough for each meal today? Not the best analogy, but come one... you got to have some to choose from and they only get better with age. :)
 
The same reason I dump thousands of dollars into my jeep.

I have enough parts on it to make it drive 100% reliably....

But I want to see it grow, it want to see it evolve, and have it do more than just drive reliably...I want it to drive unreliably and inefficiently and cost me tons of money.

Yeah, I guess as Wilkey said, it's a sickness.

Lots of good answers though, but ya never know when the government (like here in California) might drive the price thru the roof!! I buy with the best deals, etc...
 
The same reason you buy more than one porn dvd. Even though the others may still gt you off, something new and exciting is always welcome.
 
For bombs, to PIF (pay it forward), and passes of course. Nah...just to look at them and drool a lot :whistling: . Oh, and smoke em', of course!
 
It is like anything else you buy, wine, whisky, women, the more the merrier.

As we all know women don't buy men, they just use us for our manhood :whistling:
