Hosting a pass and need a greenhorn for experience!

Thanks for the opportunity Jonsey.

No problem meeting the criteria.

1. Never participated in a pass.
2. Less than 3 months on the board.
3. Less than 150 posts.

4. I believe I am worthy of getting into your pass because I feel I know some of the members from just reading their posts and there replies to my posts. It gives some insight into their character. As I stated in my intro, I had been visiting this site for quite some time before I joined and had read many posts. The pass is an opportunity to get to know the other members better and for them to learn who I am and gain some insight into my character.

In the short time I have been on the board, judging by the responses, I believe (most of) the threads I have started and posts I have made to other members threads have made a positive contribution to the community. The replies and comments have certainly been plentiful, helpful to me, and hopefully, my comments have been helpful to others. The pass would be the start to establishing this newbie as a contributing member in good standing with the CP community.

I love trying new cigars. This is the perfect way to share with other what they like and offer them what I have found to be enjoyable. It is also a great learning experience in that I can finally see what everyone talks about in the pass threads. The nuts and bolts of the packaging, humidification, participant lists/labels, and of course the cigars. It looks like a lot of fun.

5&6. Met.

7. Here come da Judge, here come da Judge.

Thanks for considering me for your pass.

Dave

Before I tell you why I should be picked for your pass, I need to know what cigars are going to be in the pass.
How to win friends and BOTL's and how to be invited into passes, in 5 easy minutes! :sign:

Jeese, Brian! You've not asked your kids if they're going to be home for supper only to get, "depends on whats for supper"?

The frontrunner Gentlemen!

I have amended the rules a little in my initial post and changed "greenback" to "greenhorn" since none of you cheap fuggers wanted to send me any money! Rule changes include 6 months or less and unlimited posts as log as you're a participating member. Don't want somebody with 2 days and two posts walking off with the pass.

This I know would be an awesome pass to participate in as my first, but I do not fall within the six month time frame :( It is very nice of you to offer up a spot to a newb.

I will be hosting another pass in earlier March and was going to open one spot for a new newbie to prove himself.
Rules:
1) You can't have participated in a pass already
2) You must have less than 6 months on the board
3) Post count doesn't matter but you must be an active member.
4) You must tell me and the board why you are worthy of getting into my pass.
5) 1 entry per member
6) You must have your reason posted in this thread by Jan 20th
7) I am the judge, jury, and executioner so no bitching whining or anything else of that nature.

Good Luck!

Wow. This seems very pompous to me for someone who's been here less than a year.

I would like to be in your pass Jonesy. I have been a good BOTL and deserve the chance to show everyone that I am trustworthy and reliable. I have already bought from a few members and have bombed a few. The hot potato bomb has come my way and i passed it right along to the next guy, i also put one of his favorite sticks in their for him. I am a very active member and am on the boards all day at my lazy job, :sign: .

So, please consider me for your pass. If i get in great, if not i know more passes will come along.

Perceptions vary, I guess,

You know the FOG newb with over 2000 post in less than a year. You know Mr Bomb the Fog :whistling: ??? I am sorry did I say that out load. :sign: I will crawl back in my hole now.
Wow, didn't realize that this is how I'm perceived around here. My apologies for posting on an internet forum...I thought that's what they were there for. My apologies for bombing people I bombed, didn't know I was being scrutinized for that either. BTW, I've bombed quite a few more new guys than I have FOG's so what's your point? I apologize for my seemingly "unliked" reputation here....not sure how I got it but obviously I do seeing the run ins I've had and now this.
Yea but it Jonesy, so you know it's okay.

So, there are different sets of rules set up for me? If I do something that goes against the board, I don't get admonished for it? Damn, it must really be great to be me.

To those of you that replied to this thread in hopes of joining the pass, I apologize, but since I seem to offend people with my presence here, I won't be having it.

Sounds like the easy way out, Jonesy.

Let me tell you what I see here. You have or will quietly invite some set of members to join your pass. You reserve one spot to include someone with no previous experience in a pass - laudable. THEN you invite the newer guys to grovel for the priviledge, like kids competing for the open chair at the big table. It just seems demeaning to me.

Certainly wasn't meant to be as you perceived it Bruce. I wouldn't hold a public "demeaning session" for a bunch of new guys. I did it because they are new and I don't know them, so I wanted to see if there was interest from them to do it. I'm sorry to those of you that thought I was "demeaning", but I certainly wasn't trying to be. And yea, it's the easy way out....if there are so many that dislike me and are making their feelings public, than I'll just stop the process.

edit for spelling

Wow...I really didn't think this was gonna turn out like this. Jonesy made a concerted effort to help out someone newer than him and he gets sand thrown in his face. The spiteful comments and sand could have easily been taken to PM but they weren't. The laundry was spilled all over the lawn and now we're all having to see the mess.

Well now I'm thoroughly confused.

Is this pass a go or a no-go? It seemed like the counter sides shook hands and made nice for all of us noobs. If not, I sure wish they would because I'd like to take a crack at this. Plus, it is the right thing to do in the case of misunderstandings.

But in case it is still a "go", I travel a lot. I just came back from Japan and low and behold in the Duty Free store, a 9 stick sampler from Davidoff. It wound up in my bag along with a bottle of 21 year old scotch. I thought one of these sticks might make a proper offer to the pass. This is my response to #4: Why I should be in the pass.

All other rules of the pass are fully understood and I comply.

Cheers,
Chris
