Hey Fellow Newbies

Bump for the most recent batch of newbies. Welcome to the CP class of 2010.

THANK YOU DAVE!!! Some noobs are trying too hard me thinks...but you gotta start somewhere right? Hopefully they will learn the ways of CP!

I personally think you shouldn't need to read meltdown threads so you can act proper on CP. It should already be instilled into by this time
to act civilized and always do the right thing. I never had to read any threads so I could learn how to act properly on CP. Even with how
screwed up my family is, mom and dad taught us from right and wrong. But reading those threads is sort of entertaining and at the same
time, pretty sad and pathetic to see grown ups that can't either see nor comprehend they should always be stand up and honest.

Most problems can and should be resolved by a PM. If its a personal issue or someone makes a mistake, a PM should be sent.
Of course if its a real bad screw up, then the community needs to know.

That is how I look and approach CP.

I agree with this. I am not reading the meltdown posts to learn anything, I think if I conduct myself how my parents raised me all will be good. We all have the occasional blip in reasoning, but how we handle it after the fact is what will save our asses.

I did find a couple readings pretty interesting though. The thread about not posting up BOMB contents was good. I would not think about posting the contents of a BOMb/Fiver/Gift, as I think that is between the sender & receiver, but it makes sense that it might make other jealous or upset with contents they received.

The other one that I liked was about deleting posts. Again, something that I wouldn't do, but was still good to get a bit more insight as to why the FOGs are so strict about it on here.

No problem. I've been watching a bunch of newbies stumble (as most of us have) and I hoped this would help.

Hey now I dont stumble I call it gracefully falling.

All good reading, but like Loren said, it's not that hard of a concept to follow.

1. Think before you post.
2. Look around a little before you start a thread asking questions.
3. If you get corrected by a senior member, there's a reason why so don't get uptight about it.
4. Stay out of threads where someone is being called out. Nothing worse than someone that has been here for 2 months adding their two cents to the topic.
5. When you see said threads, don't think that we're a bunch of assholes, there's usually good reason behind it and realize it or not, it's you that benifits from it.
6. As Gary says, "Enjoy the Ride!"

Boy,

I am not sure who had the most stamina to keep the thread going, I was exhausted at the end. I tend to be the shy retiring type who only speaks when they have something relevant to say. So I am definitely in the read a lot and write a little category. I am very happy to be part of this community, even trying my hand at the newbie sampler trade.

Cheers

P
