Ladies and Gentlemen, meet Ewell Eric Shaw III (he goes by Trey)! He came in kicking and screaming at 9:52 PM on October 16. He weighed in at a petit 8 lbs. 13 oz, and a stocky 22 1/2 inches long. Needless to say, Mama is pretty tired right now.

Smoke 'em if you got 'em boys, Daddy's got a Cohiba Siglo VI that has been waiting 7 months for this!

:D :D :D :D :D

That kid's a cutie!... Congrats!!! Kid's are a blessing man, and it looks like you got one heck of a blessing there!

So, for those of you who don't remember me I used to be very active on this board beginning in 2004. Cigars aren't as much of a hobby for me as they used to be, but I still maintain a decent humidor. You may be wondering why I'm bumping an 18-year-old thread...

18 years ago today, my first son was born (which I announced here via this thread). I worked in a cigar store at the time, and I bought two cigars the night before (does anybody even remember there were S.T Dupont branded cigars??). I put them in a ziplock and wrote the date of Trey's 18th birthday on the bag...10-16-2023. They've stayed in my humidor through 4 different houses in three different states. Today, we finally got to share them.

I'll be doing this again in a year and a half with my youngest!

Congrats on making it this far. I'l assume the kid is incorrigible like most 18 year old boys so how was the cigar?

PS - Stick around this time.

It was shockingly better than I expected. I did not have high hopes for a mediocre cigar with 18 years on it.

I drift in and out of here pretty often, mostly lurking these days though. I have many fond memories of this place, and I’m glad to see some of my old friends are still around!

Not too many of us here from 18 years ago. I took a medical break in most of 2022. Can't say I'm any better but more like I'm getting used to it.

Very cool! Thanks for bringing this threat back!

I did something similar when my twins were born. I bought a box of CCs from the month and year they were born (January 2008), I smoke one every year on (or around) their birthday. I plan on doing the same with them.
