Hello from Tatuaje

I am not going to get into this dog fight however I can say I have known Pete for around 4 years and he has been nothing but a stand up guy. Hell I just recently had a entire box of verocu replaced because of damage caused by shipping, no questions just emailed or called and they sent another box the same day. I know a lot of people on this board and other cigar boards and talk to Pete on a weekly basis, I would consider him a friend and honestly he has NEVER said a bad thing about another retailer to me.

I have known Pete since before Tatuaje was a huge success and I can honestly say he is the same person now as he was before with one exception, he is so busy he barely has time to eat and sleep. Pete has never once lied to me mislead me or talked trash to me about anyone or anything. All this needs to be hashed out in private but before everyone jumps to one side with out all the info and start piling on I had to post my views on the situation and defend a person I consider more of a friend than manufacturer. If that alienates me then so be it but my past experience with Pete does not reflect ANY of this banter.

I would also like to add as a person that has his filter broke sometimes and can't restrain himself from making comments that he shouldn't, I in no way shape or form would do business with someone that did this to me. Honestly Al, if this did happen (I am not saying it didn't) why the hell would you want to do business again with him or any one else. If it happened to me, I would not spend a penny again with the person and a few choice words on the phone would be uttered and then the product dropped. That is just me, if you wrong me I am not going to support anything ever again by that company. Especially with the details posted above. my 2 cents on everything. but mostly do what others have suggested before everyone chooses sides and it hurts both businesses. Hash this shit out then hug it out bitches ( sorry entourage) quote.

Kevin

Kevin, Business is business. This is about feeding my family, protecting my reputation and straightening out the past. You have a lot to learn if you think it's about friendship. This board is about friendship for me, my store is about business. Big difference between the two.
You really should mind your own business before you get called out for what you tried to do. Dude don't try to play both sides of the fence here, it won't work.

Al

I understand Al and agree with you and I am not choosing sides, I just posted my thoughts and what my reaction would be. I don't really know what your refering to that I did but I just want to see everything worked out between you guys. I was just pointing out my experience has been completly different than others with Pete. I have been treated bad by other manufacturers and chose not to do business with them anymore. That was my only point and I do not plan on playing both sides of the fence. I have purchased cigars from you before and after being in the cigar business and you have always treated me great. Sorry if I said something to offend you because that was not my intention.

I'm not sure why Pete had to make a reference about being called a liar by a vendor.
Absolutely no reason to do so, All it did was cause innuendo and speculation as to who the vendor was. And on CP the truth always comes out.

After being called on it by Al. Pete proceeds to throw another vendor (TEXCIGARS) under the bus. Very unprofessional. In your post you talk about trying to hurt business . Did you ever stop to think how you could possibly hurt Al's and TEX's business with your posts?

You could have avoided this and contacted Al to let him know it was not him you were reffering to in your initial post.
If this is how you conduct business I am glad I no longer smoke any Tatuajes.

Wow, I didn't read this thread when it started.

I know this Al is a first class BOTL and he takes care of his clients. But most importantly he has given us the opportunity to enjoy certain cigars as others have mentioned at great prices.

I've purchased a slew of the Tatuajes from Al and must say I have shared a ton with many of you out there. Because he made these available to me I felt I needed to share them and I think that is what Al is about. I don't think he is in it to become rich, just enough to make a decent living and provide for his family.

I don't know Pete other than by his cigars, so I can't comment on him as a stand up guy. I only can say this running any business requires give and take, We are not going to like everyone we deal with. To ignore someone that wants to continue to promote your cigars is a bad business plan, especially one that has an extensive client base.

I hope you can come to some common ground and work this out.

Al that is a great offer and Pete continue to make a great product

C'mon Pete! GROW A PAIR and make a decision. Business is business and friendship is bullshit Mindriot. Mindriot, don't think for a second that Pete wouldn't throw you or anyone else under the bus in a heartbeat. I would, but I don't do (that kind of) business with true friends. When this shit started, I gave away my Tats and haven't bought any since. There are FAR TOO MANY OTHER FINE cigars out there for me to miss them.

Am I being naive? I don't think so - I'm a regular player in several multi-million dollar telecom accounts. Same shit, different scale. However, at this scale, the players have the balls to look you in the eye and tell you that you suck, to clean up your act or its done. I know Al and I believe him. You run your business as you see fit. But, do the deal with Al and you might find a ready supply of cheerleaders here. Not because he offered to hold a fire sale of what really are fine cigars, but because you'll be showing that you might actually have a spine. Respect is hard to earn, but really, really easy to lose.

a great quote.. applies in many ways here at CP.

Not taking sides, as in you're neutral? I have to throw the bullshit flag on this one. Be honest with yourself at least. Tatuaje sure looks like the flagship brand on your web site. Do anything other than kiss Pete's ass and you might be leaving messages when next you call.

I love everybody. :D

Damn, my pussy hurts.................Anyone have some Midol? ???

Alexgtp,

You are completely correct in saying that I should have never mentioned the other vendors name.
I really should have emailed AL directly to say that I was not talking about him.
Truthfully, after Al's post, I didn't want to do anything but defend myself and I was not thinking straight.
When Rod told me about the new forum, I wanted to post something short that included some light humor. I did not think it would lead to this.

As far as Tex Cigars is concerned, I will be contacting by email to apologize for mentioning his name. His situation was completely different than AL's. To lump the two together is not fair to either party.

To comment about some other posts whether I have a spine or a set of balls, YES!
I will always continue to post comments to defend my reputation and integrity and will never back down because this is my stance.
What is "Heavy Headed", someone asked. When you are in initial training for UFC and Mixed Martial Arts, you head gets pounded a bit and your head get very heavy. I am only in 8 weeks so far. It has two meanings for me right now, the other is explained below.
Al and I had our differences a long time ago and they never got resolved. The few times he called or emailed. I was either out of town or not ready to speak with him. I still had a bad taste in my mouth about the whole thing.
A few have said I come here only to do damage control. I tried to post something and some of you just brought up the past instead of joining in with the rest. There is a core group here that will never welcome me because of what happened in the past. This is why I spend most of my time on other boards.

Al, I have a copy of that email and that letter that I sent Rod for his viewing. I will gladly post the remaining portions.
If you would like to post the rest of any email for all to see, I am okay with it. Something that happened in the forum should be posted for all to see. Most of it was heat of the moment petty crap by all parties defending themselves.
The email you posted from Dan was not the only reason why I contacted you back than but it was the only email I forwarded to Steve.
That email to me was funny, "C-bid moving to Georgia". I had forgot about it early on in the battle and apologized to everyone except you that I told there was no such email. That email unfortunately was passed around by you and a few others like a note in the 5th grade classroom.
If you do post the letter, everyone will see that I asked if there was an email about me floating. I was told that there was not.

Al, thank you for the past business but I wish to respectfully decline your offer. I am not sure we will ever have the business relationship like we had in the past. Stuff like this can't happen if both parties want to feel good about the other. You are a smart retailer and I am sure you can find the next better thing to offer you friends and clients here at Cigar Pass. I know for a fact you do not need my brands to survive. Your a better retailer than that. I also respect you for defending yourself like I would do for myself.

Rod, Thank you for the forum and I am sorry that the first thread in your new section had to be a bust. I had a pleasure meeting you at Club Caribe. I would like to say I will continue to participate but it is doubtful. Thanks for having me around for at least a short time.

Pete

Pete

Whew...I'm glad this is resolved.

It's time to light up!

Don't worry, Pete. I'm sure we'll find some way to make it by smoking the "lower" offerings of folks like Fuente, Padron, Don Pepin, LFD, AVO, etc.

Must be tough being the Jesus of the cigar world......what a burden.

Now that was good....

I love the way you guys read into things here. When did I ever call myself Jesus? NEXT BETTER THING was to say that my product is just one of thousand. I would never put myself in the same league as Fuente,Padron or LFD. I grew up admiring these guys.

Don't ever assume that you know me or can speak for me.

Oh yeah, it is so hard typing while carrying that cross full of cigars on my back up that big hill I call the Cigar Business!

You got to be joking!

Dammit Tom! I just wet myself I was laughing so hard.

Don't ever assume that you know me or can speak for me.
Your own words and actions speak volumes.

Actually, I'm glad this is out in the open and "resolved", though truthfully I wish the outcome would have been different.

8 weeks into training for the UFC! That must take balls, and speaks volumes of your honor, integrity, and your business mojo! Interestingly enough, you'd have lost what few points you have left with me if you'd have taken Al up. I seriously doubt he had any illusions of repairing his relationship with you here. I also seriously doubt he would stoop to heckling you over any issue not related to business with him. If I were him, I'd sell off any remaining stock and never speak of Tatuaje again.

I respect your decision to post on other boards - moderated boards where the tough questions will be deleted and those who challenge you would be banned. Sarcasm aside, I think you should seriously consider hiring a professional product manager, then go enjoy the cigar dinners and the schmoozefests.

nuts... there goes any hope of mooching while taking them fishing :(

ahh... Tat's, I loved you so. But I love Al more. Friendship trumps taste.

I feel like my parents just had an arguement and decided to get divorced.

But Al's getting custody
