I remember this was one of the first cigars I ever smoked, at the end of last year. As I recall, I thought it was "ok", but I really didn't know what the hell I was talking about. So, as I went through my humi looking for a nice 100+ heat index cigar to smoke, I found another Helix at the bottom. I wondered how it would taste, now that I've had some time to refine my palet, somewhat. Well, after toasting, the first taste I drew in was that of burnt bbq ribs. I've never burnt them before ( ;) ), but I have had some pretty bad one's in the past. The taste mellowed out only slightly, but around half way, the silly thing was so bitter I had to set it down for the count. I do like the connecticut wrapper cigars, but this one just made me spit like a camel and I was forced to wash my mouth out with bourbon. Therefore, I do not think I will be trying these anymore in the past. Try to avoid at all cost...unless you like overdone bbq! :)
 
Nice review, their was alot of hype when they first came out. I actually thought about giving them a try, now well maybe not. ???
 
i had tried one for the first time last night, i thought it was ok.
nothing special, just ok, though i really liked the appearance of the wrapper, very smooth almost silky looking.
 
I tried a couple of these in the past and found them to be alright. I think I paid something like $4.50 a stick.
They do look really good and the ones that I had burned very well. Would I get another…maybe, but probably not now that I had a Opus X Perfecxion No. 4…Now I am spoiled :p
