Like the topic says, and my sale posted here, I am going to Laughlin, NV this weekend for some "quality time" with the missus. ;) Any of you local guys there have a good recommend for a B&M to check out?

Also, if you're in the area, I might be able to swing a HERF so PM me and we can go smoke! I'll be there this Thursday, October 16, through Sunday, October 19. Looks like we'll be staying at the Riverside Resort Hotel & Casino because they allow four legged guests.

Thanks for the information guys!

LOL good luck finding anything in that place. I went with my g/f in mid September and didn't see any B&Ms anywhere. You might as well head to Vegas and go to Casa Fuente then make the hour and a half drive down to Laughlin.

Laughlin is the cheapo Vegas where the 70 year old people go. The only good thing about the place is the cheap tables. We stayed at the Tropicana Express and they had $4 roulette and $5 blackjack.

What Greg said.

I believe there are some B&Ms across the river in Bullhead City.

Otherwise, let me know if you want to make a roadtrip to Vegas and we can meet up.

Dammit!! So much for trying to take the Wife to a "nice" place!! I went there alot as a kid, she's never been there, so we figured we'd give it a whirl. Sad to hear there's pretty much a whole lot of nothin' out there though...

It's not that bad. I went there quite a bit, had relatives in Laughlin and Bullhead. It's not Vegas, but it's about spending time with the Mrs.

$5.00 blackjack is cheap? ??? I play at $1 tables, or $2 if I have to, and $5 only if there's no other choice. But then, I am a cheapskate.

Motel6 on Tropicana near the airport is pet friendly and $41 a night through their website. Casa fuente is calling you :whistling:

I use to love to go to Laughlin we would go there over Vegas because well it is less crowded and I do happen to like cheap blackjack rp

The casinos are nice and are less crowded than Vegas. They have a Golden Nugget, a Tropicana, and a Harrahs so it's not that bad and the games are cheaper. I just had more fun while we were in Vegas.

And yes $5 blackjack is cheap compared to $15 a hand on the strip in Vegas. Hell I was in Shreveport a few months back and on Saturday the lowest tables they had at the Horseshoe was $25 a hand. We didn't stay there long...

The wife and I went to Shreveport and stayed at Sam's Town this weekend. The prices there were pretty much in line with Horseshoe.

Now we're trying to figure out what to do with the dog, we just might go to Vegas... We'll see.

And yes, Tahoe is much too far!

There are no B&M's I am aware of on or near Casino Dr, the strip containing all 8 or so of the "major" hotel/casinos in Laughlin. But, let's be honest, aside from the allure of checking out a different cigar shop, you're likely better off toting along your own cigars anyway. What Laughlin does offer is more opportunity to enjoy that cigar than in your home area.

What kinda ambiance are you shooting for? I'm not familiar with pet policies. If you gotta go with Don Laughlin's Riverside Resort to accommodate your pet, then by all means go for it. It's the largest property on the strip and has a classic car collection, bowling alley and movie theater with bar - all pretty cool features if you wanna chill away from gambling for a while. It's easy walking distance from all the other Casino Dr properties except for Harrah's. Harrah's sits by itself atop a hill and is a pain in the --- to walk to. River taxi or land taxi is the way to go to access Harrah's. The river walk is very pretty at night. Great for sitting along and enjoying a drink and cigar. Not too hot at this time of year. The Riverside does draw the single wide trailer kinda crowd though. I prefer The Golden Nugget. Especially 'cause I prefer The Tarzan Lounge (Golden Nugget) over The Losers' Lounge (Riverside). The Boiler Room is a neat lil' microbrew in The Colorado Belle, and often has good rock or blues bands play on weekends. It's an older crowd at The Tropicana Express, but for some reason, I've always been a fan of their lounge acts. I also dig the calypso theme of The River Palms. You'll find the best gambling at The Pioneer. They have the cheapest tables, best odds and most single deck games. The only downside is it's a dump. More so than The Riverside.

I like spending time along the river during the day and doing the adult activities in the hotel/casinos at night. I generally rent wave runners for a while. Harrah's is known for their lil' strip of "beach", but if you're from So Cal, I just can't see the attraction of that sandbox. The Avi has the best "beach" area, but that's a solitary oasis away from everything else. If you stay there, you won't be seeing the other places. It's just too far away if you're sucking down drinks casino style.

I just booked reservations at the Riverside for us and our terrier, Rex. Thanks for the information, it's really going to help me navigate around Laughlin this weekend. I didn't want to go to Vegas because honestly, I don't like being around that many people. Too many hands to watch, plus I get weird in large crowds.

We'll probably hit all of the Casinos late at night because my sleeping schedule's all wacked out, so this is good intel on the places to check out. I plan on bringing a crapload of my nice cigars to hang out and enjoy my time with the wife. This will be good for us.

I've never been to Laughlin...sorry I cannot help.

I can, however, tell you that there are no good B&M's in Panaca, NV or Pioche, NV. Ugh...Lincoln county....

Just come to Vegas, you know you want to.....Just tell the wife that Laughlin burned down.

Vegas is about an hour or so drive from Laughlin. Honestly, kinda a sucky drive when you consider you have to leave the well air conditioned and drink laden casinos. On the other hand, Oatman, AZ is a somewhat neat lil' daytime diversion from the casinos. It's an old mining town. Small and nothing fancy.... just like Laughlin is as well.

It's closer to 90 minutes from Laughlin to Las Vegas, then of course it will take you 10-15 more minutes to go the last 2 miles in strip traffic. I was in Laughlin 2 weeks ago and the Golden Nugget had the best table rules for BJ that I saw, unless you consider 6/5 single deck to be a good game. Maybe I missed the better tables at the Pioneer. There are also a lot of tables with goofy rules about splitting aces and doubling after split. If you booked your room direct ask to talk to a host before checkout. Free rooms and food are easy to get if you play.

I took my own cigars. If you make a day trip to Las Vegas be careful going through Searchlight. It's a speedtrap.
