Saw this on Holts website thought it was a pretty decent deal-

Linky

Let me know if I am wrong.

Jim

I picked one up about a week ago. I thought it was a helluva deal. Wish I had the moneys for more!!!

Derek

I actually saw that earlier today and have debating with myself if I want to buy it. I think it's a deal.

I was thinking about grabbing a couple myself, but I have just spent too much cash of late.

Jim

I've been looking at that for a few days now. It's definitely a good deal, but I just recently picked up a Fuente sampler from them. Broketown!

Thanks for the link. That is one hell of a deal.

I ordered 2! Now I have to wait for them to ship next Monday... D'oh!

I wouldn't begrudge anbody else.................But, Holt's will not be seeing any more of my money after that whole Padilla "Buh Bye" episode.

While I certainly can understand your position, and I will never begrudge a man for his convictions, this is getting to the point where there is almost no one left to buy from. Can't buy Tatuaje's because Pete has bad people skills. Can't buy from Holt's because they blasted Padilla. Can't buy from Pepin because he is cutting ties with those that helped him make his name. Can't buy from Fuente because they price gouge, and their all about making money not putting out a good product. Can't buy from cigarbid because there stuff isn't shipped properly. (Yes all of these are arguements I have heard on here at one time or another).

The fact is, IN MY OPINION ONLY, that I am a consumer, and I am looking for the best product at the best price. Yes, customer service is important, but let's be honest, not many places have good customer service left these days. I appreciate people on here sharing their experiences with retailers, and it gives me an idea of what to expect, but it seems like if you quit dealing with places everytime someone else has a bad experience, there would be no one left to buy from.

Good point. Everyone needs to take the info that's available and make up their own minds about who they feel comfortable dealing with and who they don't. Different folks will make different choices.

It's all about making informed buying decisions.

Yep! That's why I put the "I wouldn't begrudge anybody else" comment in there. Who am I to impose my opinion on somebody else. I have my own personal reasons for not supporting Holt's any more.

While I say that, I continue to buy Tatuaje, and Pepin.....................I'll also continue to play the Fuente chase games, while occasionally supporting gougers within reason. ;)

Don't let everyones opinion here affect you so much, that you can't make your own consumer decisions.

But.....There are plenty of places out there to deal with that have great levels of customer service/satisfaction. Just look at our retailers section on this board. They "get it." ;)

edit for clarification.

So, if we keep going to places with 'poor' customer service...and keep them in business, customer service will get better?

We, as consumers, can and do make a difference.

There are a dozen other vendors out there that overlap Holt's in inventory and price. I'm with Gary. I will not reward vendors for poor performance.

I understand what you're saying and I agree to an extent. We all have to make up our own minds as to where we purchase the things for which we decide to plunk down our money. I don't shop at Wal-Mart for various reasons, but I shop at Target a lot. I've gotten poor service at both places. The only difference is I worked for Wal-Mart and I know a lot about there "culture." I'm sure Target is just as bad, but if I stop shopping there, I've got nowhere else to go . I try not to find out much about how they do things.

I for one am very limited when it comes to places to buy cigars, but I try my best to support those that supprt the values (of service) and quality that I expect. I've found the active vendors here on CP do more than enough in that regard. I'd imagine (and I don't know this for sure) that you could call one or two of them and get a deal pretty close to this one from Holt's. It may be a few dollars more, but I bet they could get pretty close for a fellow BOTL. The phone call and a few dollars more is worth it to me, it may not be for others and that's just fine. To each his own.

Let me hit on a couple of points here:
I do appreciate all of the information that is shared here in regards to vendors, sellers, etc. It does help to make informed decissions on products and places to buy them. I don't let people's opinions completely sway me, but I do listen to them (especially when it's someone with a lot of experience, or someone that I respect a great deal, which is most of you.)
I buy most of my cigars either on the b/s/t forum here, or at the Outlaw. I trust buying from the guys on here, and haven't had a bad deal yet. I also like the guys at the Outlaw because of the customer service I get there from Brad and the guys, so yes customer service does go a long way with me. As far as the large online retailers like Holts, Cigars Intl, etc, I honestly don't expect much in terms of customer service. I know that going in, so if it ends up biting me in the rear, I won't be completely let down by it. I look at online retailers the same as I do the chain stores. I don't expect my food to look the like the picture on the sign at McDonalds, and I don't expect the kid at Home Depot to know what a lag bolt is. I know it shouldn't be that way, but that's how I approach it.
Again, I'm not knocking any of you for your decision to support or not support anyone, and I do appreciate the information. I just hope (and I know this is the case) that if I choose to ignore your advice you won't hold it against me. :D
