Happy Thread

I have been taking 1000 mg of Paracetamol every 4-6 hours for the past five weeks. Healing seems to be going well, so I wanted to see where I was at, pain-wise, as a baseline. I've been off of it for nearly 48 hours now, and I'm honestly not too much more uncomfortable than I was when I was knocking back those pills every few hours. I hate taking anything I don't absolutely have to, so I'm pretty happy to have hopefully left even this minor pain reliever on the shelf.

That paracetamol is great! Way better than what we have here in my opinion. Donella and I stock up every time we go to the UK.

The walls are ready for paint. Got all the window trim finished as well. I had a lapse in judgement and also decided to demo the downstairs bathroom tonight. Look at the 70’s vinyl flooring I found under the old tile floor. 😉image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

@jfields you are aware that that vinyl flooring has a very high probability of containing asbestos, which is most likely why it was left there. As long as you don't disturb it it is completely harmless, but once you start tearing it out the particles can get airborne and cause issues.. If you already know this, than ignore..

So I had Lab yesterday and got my results from this Exam: 89%! I couldn’t believe it. I’m very happy to have posted such a good grade on an incredibly hard test, especially when your on the hook for spelling everything correctly.

On a completely separate note, do you have any idea why every store here than normally carries Vernors is completely out? I drink a fair amount of it since I've quit drinking, so I'm panicking a little! Figured a guy with a Faygo avatar might have some insider info.

Not sure why there would be a Vernors shortage. I didn’t even know they sold it out of state. But if you need a hook up I’m sure I can make something happen for you.

ETA: It’s also entirely possible that someone in Michigan caught COVID and their grandmother told them, “Why don’t you drink a Vernors and see if it helps before we head to the hospital” and they were instantly cured. So Michigan is pulling back their new COVID vaccination.
 
As I posted in the Daily, I smoked my first cigar in over 6 weeks today. Mag 54, of course. I gotta tell you -- I'd been feeling pretty shitty lately; I think the isolation in this fucking room has finally been getting to me. Getting to sit outside today in sunny weather, reading with a cigar while the dog ran around the yard like an idiot, I can't tell you how much that helped, and how... recharged I am feeling right now. I cut my hair and shaved tonight for the first time since the day before I broke my arm, and I feel almost human again.

I'm not sure if the cigar thing might be a daily happening without pushback from die Frau, but I'll take what I can get at this point.
