Happy Thread

So, when it comes to being a handyman, I couldn't find my way out of a wet paper bag. Unhappy: furnace acting up outside temperature -5, Inside low 50's.. Texted @PuffTheMagicDragon , called my brother. Did some basics. Brother came over at 1145 pm and changed thermostat. Happy: furnace seems to be working. Unhappy: blower working but no flame. Morning temp in home of 41 degrees. Call person a, he' injured. He recommends b, he's retired. He recommends c. They came out 3 hours later. Happy: minor repairs. Unhappy: $296. Ecstatic, dancing around the house happy, not 10k.

I really like how every year the author/artist really pushes himself to do more with his art.
I was lit'rally just thinking this today when I posted it. I recall you mentioned something similar previously, and it came to mind when I saw this one. Today's Dog really shines (no illustrative pun intended) in that regard; it is markedly different than any other previous sketch in the past four years of doing this.

'Member when dog would sit and have no back legs? Pepperidge Farms, remembers.

Never fun, dealing with that. What did it turn out to be? We were having issues with our furnace a few years ago. Blowing cold air, gas burners wouldn't stay lit, figured it was something simple. I replaced the ignitor, didn't help. I replaced the flame sensor, didn't help. Replaced a few other things that I can't think of and nothing was helping. Finally said screw it, I took the control board off and looked at the back. It looked like a few of the spots had burned/shorted, so I replaced that and we were back in business.

Something simple as the sensors being dirty. The repairman was polite and professional without any up salesmanship. So, in the end, everything turned out alright. Definitely appreciate a warm home during these freezing days of winter.
